Should the policies for keeping a plot be updated?

Reading all these housing outcries had me think of this unusual train of thought regarding the old system vs this lotto system:
• Old System: ”I know it’s low chance, but as long as I’m trying & waste potentially 70 hours of my life vs other (auto)clickers, I’ll get mine eventually, right? RIGHT???”
• Lotto: ”Reee why there are so many players bidding for my house??? This isn’t faaiirrr!!”

You just stop people from taking breaks from the game, something Yoshi P actually wants us to be able to do. I already have to set a reminder to redo my sub after x days of break if I am on a longer stint away from the game. I have had my house for years now, I earned it and I furnished it and will refurnish after I am done with my FC house. Frankly I hate there even being a demo timer though I understand WHY it is there, it sucks. I wanted instanced housing for years now. Sort it out SE and remove the demo timers.

The timers being paused for months now has been sweet relief, I can take a break without the worry of losing my house hanging over my head.

Why are so many suggestions, lets screw over x so that y can get this. Can we all plz just bitch and bitch until they add instanced plots alongside the wards? Yoshi P wants to keep the community feel, nothing says we cannot have wards and instanced houses. Nothing but dev refusal to do it.

About the only thing they can do is make an announcement about timer never being put on hold. Yes this seems heartless. But a big announcement going forward and Email notices would have to do. Some people abuse the timer on hold and are not affected by whatever put the timer on hold. It feels bad, but the whole situation is bad. Might as well be fair for everyone. And yes life happens to everyone. Just because someones life trouble is visible on social media for you to pretend to get behind. What about the people inflation has squeezed food or sub. Someone traumatized by the loss of a love one who can barely function day to day, or someone who had a house burn down and is struggling to put their life back together. They don't get a hold, but an earthquake happens and boom hold. It seems so unfair to randomize whose life gets special treatment.



On a less depressing note. Lots of MMOs have people that pay and login and do nothing. Who are you/we to judge how they get to enjoy the game?

I love how this housing controversy is like a little slice of real world politics in people no shit demanding a housing tax on high value land or wanting to institute communism and seize property for the masses.
