That's a lot of people to ban though, most streamers seem to use them on stream, especially since some addons are straight up quality of life stuff that SQUENIX is too "busy" to add, like chat bubbles or XIVAlexander for instance.
Streaming with addons running is probably the easiest way to get caught. You're even doing the evidence gathering for the GM by filming yourself breaking the ToS. Normally they can't detect most of that stuff if you just keep it to yourself and don't mention using it. Sad to see since he's harmless and it's not like he's speedhacking in pvp or something, but on the other hand he literally did it to himself. Even if the GM didn't want to ban him, man's basically got no choice after the rule breaker in question filmed himself breaking the rules in front of a bunch of people who want to report him for some reason. Literally did it to himself. Dumb.
I assume the streamer knew the risk but decided to chance it, or they wanted to see if they'd get caught or didn't care if they did.
I'll be real honest, what's with people exercising null restraint on their actions?
Adventurer portraits become avaliable and first order of business i having people trying to shove obscenes portraits into others' eyeballs.
Mods become more widespread and people start streaming them despite warnings that SE could take actions against people who used them.
People who literally mixes both and starts posting screenshots with clear NSFW mods.
It's almost as if some people is trying to push the boundaries just to see how much they can get away with, like some WoW streamer whose first order of business was to create a char named with slurs' anagrams.
That sounds like a scenario you've built on your head. Most people literally don't care about you or anyone not from their circles. That goes both in regards of reporting and defending.
What most people won't consent is giving SE an excuse to enforce stricter rules towards 3rd party software because some outliers simply couldn't exercise the common sense to keep it to themselves.
Absolutely not true, other wise there wouldn't be such extreme changes in ToS about how to talk to others in game. I would honestly say the player base of this game is worst than WoW. All WoW players would do is talk a bunch of bs to you. In FFXIV players actively attempt to get others banned over the most petty things imaginable, and try to create a safe space in a video game. If you want a safe space get off the internet.
Remember when yoship said he didnt want futile report wars? This is quite literally a futile report war. Report brigading for no other reason than to try it out. GCBTW
You literally don't know what happened do you lmao?
Please actually read the post before making more nonsensical assumptions.
MFW "scenario you've built on your head" when we literally have people saying they're starting a report war.
Some of you don't realize how toxic JP and East Asia in general can be when they're anonymous and it shows.
Toxic people exist everywhere, it's not somehow exclusive to Western gaming communities.
