Lol no they don't. Nobody gets to just be an asshole because they can't find a productive outlet for their anger that isn't being a piece of shit towards somebody else. Besides, the reason people get to work their drama out in PvE is that people largely aren't giant shitters there. I very rarely run into any grief while doing pve content. I constantly see insane trash rants in frontlines and frontlines is the biggest nothing matters chill pvp experience. Feast was a monstrous cess pit back in ye olden days and they would be stupid to bring chat back. Even with the limited chat function, they have been getting flooded with bm reports and it would only be two to three times as bad if dipshits got to type the swears and slurs they would like to as they do in literally every other pvp game that exists.

That's besides the point im making here. My point is, that PvE content like high end Raiding can get just as "toxic" as PvP does, yet the former is allowed to resolve matters via Chat while PvP, is not.

The blacklist function exists for a reason. Doesn't take a lot of effort to use it. Report, blacklist and move on lol. Buuuut that's just wishful thinking I guess

Having a good competitive match IS the outlet - not taking out 'pent up frustrations' in chat and not being an asshat - and no, morality isn't an aside", however you do you, it's in the GM's hands should chat be opened up - I don't see how in CC during the match - just pre-match would be fine.

I'd like to be able to communicate in the best way.......with text.
People are perfectly capable of creating macros for PvE, why not PvP.

If I had a macro for "Do not split" I'd be hammering it with the fist of an angry god at the start of some matches.

Dunno if it's been mentioned, as most of what I'd say were, but a "Using Potion" or something would be sort of nice to indicate that you're temporarily out of the ongoing skirmish.

I don’t understand why we can’t have use of the chat system. Just keep the same ToS that if someone get crazy and start mouthing off to people you’ll get banned. Repeated offenders will get perma ban. Simple. I can assure you people won’t be mouthing off like that.

Even now with CC. People use to spam “nice job and good match” throughout the match. Not anymore. People don’t wanna be banned. They will act right.

So SE give us back the open chat in pvp please.

Lukewarm take, having played pvp games religiously for 10+ years, I think SE not having in game chat is probably less white and black as people make it out to be. A… pretty major portion of pvp chat tends to be dedicated to angry things that have nothing to do with strategizing.

There’s probably a lot of mostly PvE players who are having pipe dreams about enlightening their team with their godly strategizing, having them follow your lead, and suddenly winning games. This almost never happens in reality.

What happens is that the guy you think is throwing the game also thinks you’re throwing the game, they’ll let you know just as strongly as you let them know, and the team will probably lose even harder from both of you afking to yell at each other and tilting the rest of your team. You’ll probably find out 1000 games later when you’re top whatever % that you were both wrong at the time, and that it was a complete waste of time even engaging in that squabble in hindsight.

That’s how chat usually tends to go. It’s going to be as much getting flamed for not playing dragoon 5 seconds into the match as it is any legitimate strategizing.

not having a game chat would be okayish if we had relevant quick chat options. i cant even type most of the time because i play in controller anyways so i would still probably use set phrase macros
