I'm sorry, but is Warrior completely broken in Crystal Conflict right now?

Warrior's stun is on a 15s cooldown (and aoe on top of that) while purify is on a 30s cooldown. Something in that equation is heavily in favor of warrior.

I've swapped to warrior because i was sick of getting stunned to death. It feels kinda too strong in my admittedly small experience. It's not the only broken job in CC but I think it's one of them.

No? It has a good kit and hits like a wet noodle, the little burst you get is with LB which you only use 1-2 times per match. It's supposed to feel oppressive, it's a tank.

The only thing busted right now is SAM overall and WHM's LB charging too fast.

WAR is pretty obnoxiously powerful, but I don't feel like it's some kind of guaranteed win button, especially due to the fact that its damage feels lacking. As an example, a friend from my FC and I ended up in the same casual match on opposite sides -- him on WAR, me on GNB -- and we actually got into the FC voice together and ended up having a pretty epic, sustained 1v1 duel as we both stubbornly locked the crystal in place (and the rest of our respective teams were off god alone knows where). And for all that I was like "HOW ARE YOU STUNNING ME AGAIN?" on voice, he was also going "HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?" (Answer: I junctioned your healer earlier and am trying my best to self-heal, plus a very strategic and/or desperate use of guard at one point.)

Of course, eventually our teams noticed that, oh, hey, there's this big crystal thing, I wonder what that's about, wandered over, and he got obliterated once I had backup... only for me to be nuked about 10 seconds later when his team showed up as well.

And lest you think it's solely a matter of personal skill, he's ranked platinum and I can't get out of bronze. (Partly because I keep getting ranked match teams who scatter to the four winds to chase stragglers on the other team, leaving the crystal unattended. But also partly because I'm just not great at PvP.)

If WAR's backed up by a competent DPS, their stun plus the a DPS LB is absolutely devastating, yes. But there are certainly other combinations that can be equally deadly, especially if folks are coordinating their LB use using the Quick Chat buttons.

WAR'S IR can be cc'd a bit by WHM. Also in gold plus WAR are not some unstoppable juggernaut. Strong, yes but not overly so. The only tank with issues is GNB, and that's being underpowered.

I pvp as mch and last night I had a solo warrior trying to 1v1 me at the back of the arena, and knowing i couldnt take a tank by myself i just let him wail on me while i focussed their casters/healers. People are overexaggerating how strong warrior is because they've been killed when one is around and they think the warrior did it.

When in fact it was simply they died in the stun to probably the other dps around them. Warriors do 8k every 15s with Primal Rend, 8k every 20s with cyclone that's barely anything.

It's more the stunlocks we need to talk about than warrior being broken.

Maybe WAR doesn't need to be brought down, but at least tweaked. Why is their stun a move that locks me me in place for a free hit? Actually hit me, then apply a stun on impact.

Wish they would give Purify a 4 second CC immunity or something like that. It's so annoying getting a Warrior, Monk, Bard and WHM in the same team, you just can't play.

I mean, I think most of this thread is not about WAR's damage, but about the fact that WAR's got an unusually-high number of crowd-control options with what seems like a fairly short cooldown on some. The fact that their damage is akin to smacking someone with a pool noodle has been noted by many people in their posts in this thread.

Where WAR becomes absolutely deadly is the fact that their crowd-control allows them to lock someone down repeatedly, in a manner that the target cannot effectively counter on their own. Meaning if you have a WAR along with almost any DPS that's got some sort of burst, that combination can potentially let you lock down and instantly nearly-obliterate an opposing team.

You died and a WAR was around? The WAR nearby might not have done the damage -- in fact, WAR seems to be fairly lacking in damage -- but the WAR probably is the one that stunned you -- possibly repeatedly -- and let someone else merrily obliterate you.

I think what most folks are saying feels potentially overpowered in WAR's kit is the fact that they have the PvP equivalent of an all-you-can-eat buffet table when it comes to crowd control. (Bolding in the quotes is mine, for emphasis.)

I don't think anyone disagrees that WAR's own damage is low. Witness that in a 1v1 duel, they can have trouble taking down an opponent; even the stunlock isn't enough because their damage output isn't sufficient to take down a semi-prepared enemy (even a GNB with Aurora or Nebula junctioned, for instance) before the stun wears off and the enemy can recuperate and start wailing on the WAR again.

But WAR + basically anything else with a DPS burst is a recipe for any opponent in the area to have a very bad day -- or all opponents in the area to have a bad day -- due to the fact that they can easily and repeatedly stunlock opponents with an AoE, and can do so more often than said opponents can be purified. And if you have a job where you can pair it with one other player on almost any DPS job and basically wipe the entire other party in a manner that is extremely easy to execute (have a DPS follow a WAR, the WAR stuns the group on the crystal, the DPS nukes the stunned group with an LB) but comparatively difficult to effectively counter... it may not be absolutely broken, but it's at least something of a balance issue.

"Broken" isn't always about just damage output.

I was running towards a warrior, still a good distance away, and suddenly I was stopped in my tracks, wondering what it was, only to see the warrior hurling towards me like a frikking comet.

Ya primal rend has too much on a single button. Its a gap closer, its does damage and its an aoe stun.

Primal scream+Primal rend can easily lock down a team to lets a dps dump or WHM lb on them. However, this can be played around.
