A Plea to those that like to be obscene in Castrum

Obviously they shouldn't be doing that, but I think it's a bit less mature to get this upset about it. Just roll your eyes and continue about your business.

I've thought about that, and maybe that's the answer to be honest, but with where these are placed (especially the first location), it's annoying at best to do that. That said, I appreciate the out-of-the-box thinking.

I'm guessing you don't have young children, because, yes, at a certain point in their lives it's absolutely appropriate to Disniyfy things. Are you serious? And if you do have children, and have that view...that's beyond sad. Maybe try to actually raise your child instead of letting the Internet do it for you.

I don't think so, no-sir. They don't have access to the internet like you may think they do. They don't have a phone, or a tablet, or anything internet-connected...for this very reason. It really is sad that children that young are exposed to these obsensities from parents that use the Internet to raise their children instead of actually, you know, raising them?

Yes. Exactly. The main difference here is that I'm more aware of random public things that I can try to deflect beforehand than things that are happening in the privacy of my own home.

I would argue that NOT saying something is less mature, not more. If we just stay silent and fail to speak out about things, how is that mature? It's more mature to stand your ground and speak out for what you believe. Certainly recently history has shown this...no? And what do you mean by "this upset"? I'm pretty sure I gave a level-headed argument without being overtly upset about it (I even gave arguments whereby it was FINE to continue said behavior, but to be mindful of how it was handled)? You can't be serious? Rolling my eyes and ignoring the issue does nothing to change behavior.

Conversations that should not be needed at this point in their life.

So, if you're in that particular MSQ, and you put those markers up and they get removed...don't perpetuate yourself as being *that person* by just throwing them back up...perhaps ask why they were removed instead.

Honestly, given SE's stance on language, I'm surprised they even allow this. They should probably just change all markers to shapes and be done with it. Granted, once my kids are old enough, it isn't even going to matter anymore. But for now, it does.

Certainly I cannot be the only one here?

Like said before, ofc they shouldn't be writing things like that but it's not a random stranger on the internet's job to Disneyfy their language/behavior/whatever for the sake of your kids :P

It's the internet. Immature behavior and jokes won't change or go away, no one is going to stop making peepee jokes because you "stood your ground" against it. Ya either go with the flow or don't, you either find ways to avoid/ignore it or don't

Raising them? How old, or what age group are they? They sound pre-school?

We're talking early grade school here. Enough to read, but not old enough to be exposed to this kind of language.

Honestly, at this point, I've made my stance known. You can either agree or disagree with it. But I've said my peace, there's literally no point on arguing any further, one way or other. I've outlined why this behavior has a negative effect. I've asked for players to be cognizant of the situation. I get there is zero chance everyone will agree, and I'm fine with leaving it at that.
