I agree that it is much more satisfying when you have actual summons. However the reason a summoner traditionally has a variety of summons is for situational reasons, especially elemental damage but also various support and utility purposes. Damage Jobs are designed to have usually 2 optimal rotations with little variation. Elemental Damage and resistance is nearly irrelevant now, and any support or utility is met with player derision. So your summons either are part of the rotation or they go unused in high end content and tend to be the next thing on the chopping block. You can play a little more free form in standard content but ultimately design seems to cater to the maximum throughput mentality, when the primary situational concern is movement.

Ideally, I'd really go for Ravana, the Warring Triad, and Alexander, but I'm not holding my breath for any of it. Egi glamour is probably as dead as butt sliders.

Be nice if carbuncles actually did something, though. Give them a weak auto-attack or something, just to say they have a purpose. Or at least face the enemy.

Technically speaking, would Shiva even be possible? I mean, canonically both incarnations of Shiva were just other npc being possessed by ice aspected aether, so there hasn't been a "true" primal Shiva yet. I could also debate the WoL would rather not to honor Ysayle's memory, but we can already summon Phoenix without any explanation whatsoever so that already went through the window lol

I also agree Carby feels weird now just... being there for the sake of being there, at least have it look at the enemy, pretending it's assisting the SMN, idk

If we can summon Phoenix, we can summon Shiva. They have already explained that the twins might be offended if someone summoned Phoenix and yet we do it all the time anyway, so it's not really different. Again, fun>lore at this point.

I'm fine with carby just chilling out next to us since his responsiveness is pretty much instant in return. I'd enjoy having an entire rainbow of colors for carby to choose from. Wouldn't be that hard to do since it's just a color swap.

However for the actual egi glams... They really should let us glam Alphi's old carbuncles, but... to be completely honest, I wish they would make the base Summon Carbuncle just a cosmetic spell. It adds nothing to the caster's gameplay:
- The carbuncle won't do anything. It won't even look at the enemy and pretend it does something, it just idles there...
- It hinders SMN's personal shield usage and to some extent Searing Light's usage as well.

Just detach those spells from the carbuncle. Heck, use Alphi's old carbys for their cast animations, if you must.

Truth be told, the carbuncle hanging on your shoulder with the Carbuncle armor, even though is not moving, feels much more endearing than the one we currently have.

That could be neat. Something like Ifrit becomes Leviathan, Titan becomes Ramuh, and Garuda becomes Shiva?

Egi Glamours are a myth like the tooth fairy, or the devs realizing WHM is hot garbo compared to the other healers.

I don't think we are summoning any actual primals. Just giving aether temporary form based on our abilities as an arcanist and enhanced by our experience with the summoner stone and using our own memories of the primals. At least that's how I interpreted it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This has no future, it was brought up in HW and still does not exist. So it will not exist.

What "it" does not exist? Egi glams do exist. Several of the specific glams people have requested do not exist so "they" do not exist.
