6-8 months WHEN you get subs at the right rank and exploration node unlocked.
I only have a smallish FC. i'm doing 95% of the crafts for this

It's not even a personal FC, we have 40+ members, half of which are permanently active.
A lot of us aren't transferring because we'll be losing a lot of progress. And gil from the house. which at the time WAS expensive.
I don't want a free house, I want some form of compensation for what we're losing and some form of way to retain the progression.
Considering the way workshops are tied to a house and houses are in the ward system, I don't think there's much they could do to address that drawback of transfers between worlds. SE would need to detach workshops from housing and give them a different access point like the affiliated GC headquarters (similar to squadron barracks).
Leveling your FC and gaining credits is not a problem. Getting a house is the more difficult part.
As others have pointed out, you can do some prep to help take some of your acquired assets with you and help get your new FC established faster. Decommission airships/subs and place the parts in inventory along with any workshop schematic materials you have so you will be able to start unlocking schematics as soon as you have your new FC house and workshop. Spend the company credits on ceruleum tanks, dive credits, flight credits, Voidrake and Althyk Lavender seeds, etc. Fill any leftover inventory space (don't forget your retainers and chocobo saddlebag) with useful items not easily farmed (your new MBs are going to be very empty for a while). Don't forget to include stacks of cheap ShB end game crafting materials to make gear to turn in for Expert Deliveries to help get your initial FC ranks very quick.
Think newly created characters are not eligible for world transfer so that may not work. Can't seem to pull up the support article on Lodestone to confirm due to maintenance.
This honestly doesn't make sense. FC progress means so little when it's so easily regained outside of the workshop fleet. That is such a tiny portion of overall game play it shouldn't be a deterrent.
I can understand the concern over not getting compensated for the FC house purchase price but it shouldn't be difficult for a FC with a small but active membership to accumulate enough in the couple of months before housing opens if transferring members don't already have the needed gil.
Kinda highly doubt getting a new house is going to be an issue. You're starting on an entirely fresh data center for a region that has, to this point, sufficed being scattered across multiple already-populated servers, with an entire new housing district coming as well.
You're more likely going to be seeing entire empty wards for a long while, rather than worrying about there not being an available plot when you go for one.
