So, you didn't bother with actually reading the quest text you got while unlocking the raid and then whine about how the game forces you to google stuff? And then come to the forum to keep whining?

Probably shouldn't try to use novice network as your personal complaint board for the devs. They aren't reading what you say and nobody else in the chat can help resolve your personal issues with the game.

I'm sorry, but:

Heavensward has two cities, One large, one small. Where do the raid tokens/tomestones get exchanged for gear? The smaller city
Stormblood has two cities, One large, one small. Where do the raid tokens/tomestones get exchanged for gear? The smaller city
Shadowbringers has two cities, One large, one small. Where do the raid tokens/tomestones get exchanged for gear? The smaller city

It's an established trend, and even then it's not hard to ask "Hey, where do I trade this in for gear?" without complaining that the game doesn't directly tell you "GO HERE TO SPEND THESE TOKENS" and insulting people because you didn't get the answer you wanted.

100% justified kick.

That general rule also exists for the mentor that elected to the take the path of "Anyone with a functioning brain" - Sorry but if you write a comment such as that and then go with kicking the sprout for simply giving you a receipt for that remark, then well there's as much wrong with the mentor as there is with the sprout in this case.

If I'm quite frank though, whilst I don't necessarily agree with the way the OP conveyed themselves, they still highlight a fairly interesting thing with the active help system in the game.

From where I stand, it's dumpster fire everywhere. If OP has been complaining just about every little thing he/she encounters, then yeah, I'd say the same thing as the next response.

Then there's mentor who belts out an insult, gets the same treatment and then hilariously writes the reason for the kick is "insulting another player". If that's not a classic NN Mentor move, I don't what is.

In the end, the whole thing just seems sad everywhere.

I am disappointed there are some servers with mean novice network chats. I am playing on Sargatanas and we have a really friendly novice network. I have seen chat logs like this before from some other server's novice network chats and I don't see why those mentors become harsh when players ask about things that are explained clearly with a web search but maybe can be missed in game. That's what the novice network is for right? Help sprouts even if they aren't inclined to search the web. Some servers do have really good novice networks and the oldbie mentors do not tolerate mean spirited comments. If you transfer some time, I strongly recommend Sargatanas. The mentors are friendly and there are lots of people who have been here since even 1.0.

Where to turn in items = That expansion's main hub.

If you don't know you could ask a question politely then be done with that.

Yep, I'd kick them too as they didn't handle it well with the insult to the player when they could have defused. Player then didn't handle it well with the insult to the mentor, when they could have defused... and we don't see what happened after to see if that mentor got a kick.

Generally 500 odd people in NN don't need to be distracted with fighting, name calling and this sort of drama.

At the same time, people really do need to turned towards googling before they learn to rely on NN as a crutch, NN doesn't last forever and it's a complex game when push comes to shove, especially with tokens, raid rewards, quest unlocks and so on.


tl;dr kik was deserved, mentor should be kicked too, NN is a basket case but it's better than Barrens' chat, and burger king crown should become the poop emoji - fertiliser to help the sprouts grow.

Edit: DPS can have a poop-knife nameplate icon. DOH/DOL can get a poop-shovel one.
