Raise awareness, at the very least.
I am happy to hear there are people unaffected by this, but I'd be happier if no one at all would be affected.
For those affected, game has been basically unplayable for a month and devs fail to even include audio issues in the "Known issues" list or acknowledge the issue in any other way.
I am, personally, starting to doubt that they are planning to fix it at all.

If you read other sections of the forums - including top page with dev tracker, tgey are in fact working on it and have identified one source so far. They are asking everyone to file reports in the thread to gather as much info as able as well to figure out others.

Tgey are moving the information they've asked themself to the duplicate tickets at this point, disregarding it.
Also, only mentions in dev tracker are where they've tried to pin the issue on user side, then hastily backed away from that statement when called out.
Meaning they either did not bother testing for the issue to reproduce on variety of setups, or are straight up keeping us in the dark on purpose.
Tracking the most populated thread, players did more testing and described the issue in more detail than any of those two dev posts and had a sound engineer conclude that issue is caused by the questionable changes to the sound engine.

That, and sound issues are not even included in the list of known issues of latest patch.
And in previous patch changelog attempted to downplay the issue as minor inconvenience.

So yah. I am very slightly skeptic.

As someone who has been suffering from this shit since Day 1 of 6.0, I'm tired of it. It's not the user's end--so much testing on the players' sides keep ending up pointing to the actual client/game. A good test to know it's the game? Toggle on Visual Alerts in Accessibility settings. You can actually see the crackling/stutter in real time. The visuals actually distort and freak out when the audio crackling happens. And.. it's only FF14 that does this, mind you. No other games seem to have this "problem".
I might drop the game soon, because of this issue which should have been addressed sooner. The fact it's being downplayed even more is irritating.
Not paying 15 USD + retainer fees for a game with a broken sound system.

Kind of odd this game has so many issues with sound when they're using DirectX like every other game on the market.

Good idea, sadly this petition asks money and data id not like to give.

Yeah my audio has been bad ever since 6.0 as well. My first thought was the whole 'spatial audio' bit they added for the stuff you can buy.

I never had any audio issues but for those that do my thought was also the spatial audio. They had to have adjusted the audio of the game to work with it which could have caused problems. I don't actually know of course.

For me sound just fades out then comes back after 30 seconds to a minute seconds. Thinking its caused by lag spikes.
