FWIW, this does not work with certain sound setups; obnoxiously, this includes a number of USB-based gaming headsets. The workaround is to use a virtual audio cable (i.e., a purely-software sound device) and just use the 'Listen to Device' in Windows recording device settings.
So for instance, I have a Virtual Audio Cable called "Game Audio", and I have FFXIV manually set to use specifically that device. If something goes wrong, I can go to the sound properties and find the "Game Audio" recording device, go to the 'Listen' tab, and change where that device is echoed out to. (It has the added benefit that I can put the Game Audio device as an audio stream in my streaming software, and have the game audio without having the rest of my system audio like Discord notification noises or whatever.)
Still a pain to workaround -- and a bug that really ought to be fixed, even if I know dealing with the likely cause is a massive headache -- but it can be worked around even without the devs adding a fix to the game.
(As an odd side note, I've found that the issue with audio dropping out happens way less often via a virtual audio cable in the first place, meaning the thing you can do to fix the issue sometimes means the issue no longer arises to be fixed...)
Can i have your stuff?
Edited I was mean.
Guy sounds like a 30 year old child though. Almost every issue has been given an answers along with solutions coming.
No one is even a paying customer at the moment.
Imagine being 30 and getting upset over 4 days. Like come on.
The sound problem has indeed gotten worse, especially with SFX and voices now cutting out while all other sounds are still active. This is probably due to them trying to upgrade the sound system to work with that new sound set up that they've started to partner with.
The queues... well this game has hit an unheard of, unanticipated, and honestly absolutely shocking number of subs on top of a new expansion release. Anyone who didn't think there would be queues has been living under a rock. Now, I will give that the 2002 error is unacceptable and thankfully is getting fix. The 9006 error, however, is something different. That is when the client loses contact with the server for x amount of time. A myriad of things can cause this, and the vast majority of it is not under SE's control. One of the biggest issues if you are a NA player are the NTT nodes. They have been notorious as of late in certain routes for poor connection and packet loss. There is nothing SE can do about this other than report it to NTT and hope it gets fixed. It sucks, it really really does, but that is the unfortunate reality of the internet infrastructure in the US. And before anyone says 'but netflix'. Netflix preloads a good ways out (you can keep watching like half a show even after your net goes out because of it) which does not work for a live MMO environment. Not to mention the bandwidth loads are completely different.
Everything else, which includes the stoppage of sales, well... do you really think SE wants to say no to more money? The fact that they are doing that is them throwing caution to the wind to dump anything and everything they can to help the servers until hardware is available for them, is properly formatted and loaded up with the appropriate software, and then installed in the proper data centers. Even before the shortage this was a time consuming thing, but something that they could do in months if they absolutely have to. Now? Well... they are still waiting on the OCE servers that the ordered before they even announced early this year that they were trying to do it. Hell they wanted that new data center in place before EW and couldn't even get that.

They're motivated by not being sued by NA customers for the eleventy billionth time a JP release got crap servers.
Ya'll remember Brawl and MHW.
