I thought it was bugged as well because it didn't seem to fit what was happening on screen at all, beyond the bit when/why the music shift started of course. I never really turn the bgm off but I did for a while during this part because hearing it on a loop got on my nerves.
Thankfully it went back to the normal music afterwards.

I actually had a similar issue earlier in Garlemald. I had planned to do some side questing before finishing off the zone, as I have been doing, but as soon as I picked up the next main quest this loud music began to play incessantly throughout the area, so I had no choice but to continue the MSQ as quickly as possible just to be rid of the music, so I could do my side questing in peace. Needless to say I won't be doing any more side quests in Labyrinthos, either.
Honestly, for the first time in the six years I've been playing this game I might actually turn the music off entirely. This is that bad. -

They did this last expansion with the Eulmore overworld area. I think they had to patch it out at some point. However this was not the case in Labyrinthos, it went back to normal after i finished the MSQ

That music definitely played too long. Should have ended with the cutscene it starts in. Especially weird because they make a bunch of sidequests available, a lot of them relatively mundane, so the change in music doesn't fit well. I was glad the Labyrinthos music changed back after the MSQ was over.
I hope it is just a bug or oversight that will be resolved.
