I agree. The song is great, but for an overall zone theme the ambient version was perfect. I'd rather the song only played while you're in certain areas of the zone.

Kind of agree, we had that sad callback to people who died over the course of the game and it was in The Aitiascope. It was nice having it during that walk up to Meteion but after that the zones music needs to move on.
For me it is more about a overworld theme having actual vocals. I find it very distracting every time I go to that zone for whatever reason. Pulls me right out of it for me. I like my BGM to feel like background music. The song itself is cool and would be fine if it played in certain spots or something. I donno.
They could have used the instrumental version as the "night" time bgm.
I love the song and zone, but yeah being able to switch back to the ambient music with no lyrics would be awesome.
or maybe let me use the orchestron everywhere akin to FFXV mp3 (limited to non-instanced content)
This has been asked a lot and the dev team have responded by saying the music system of the game isn't built to allow it. I don't think they've ever gone into the technical details, but I definitely agree this would be amazing if they could figure out how to do it.
I don't think there is "a problem of one very odd choice of permanent BGM".
(this is just a subjective opinion trying to be sold as an objective fact)
Because what the op calls an odd choice and a problem, is one of the most brilliant musical themes for a zone this game has ever had (in my books). And from what I've heard a lot of other players also appreciate this beautiful song and this very unique BGM.
At the end it's just a matter of taste... and as we all know, tastes differ.
Not everyone will like every BGM of every zone. There are some zones in this game, that have a BGM that I absolutely dislike (or find highly annoying).
However I would never think of demanding a change just because not every BGM is tailored to my very personal taste.
Truthfully, the song is the same from the beginning of the zone, the lyrics are just distorted and get progressively clearer as we progress. But I agree, I would like the option for the lyricless version as well, either alternating or one being the day theme another the night theme.
If we had a way to disable/enable every feature that everyone brings up, the options menu would have dozens of tabs and hundreds of options each and would be a nightmare to maintain all the niche options for the devs.
IMO let's just give feedback to maybe not use songs with clear, loud lyrics while we are trying to follow dialogue. It's distracting; I agree.
