[Spoiler: 6.0] End of Endwalker discussion

Ultima Thule was a sight to behold for sure, and visiting the memories of dead worlds an experience unlike any other. The ever changing music, the atmosphere, the gut-wrenching story unfolding before your eyes as you're powerless to stop it... and the dead silence upon reaching the deserted area at the top. It didn't quite top the 'Woah!' factor of Amaurot for me, but it was a phenomenal zone nonetheless.

My favorite though... I'd have to go with Garlemald. The duties, the music (that song on the radio game me chills), the story, the incredibly dark themes driving home the desperation of the people and the post-apocalyptic vibes of the destroyed capital just swept me off my feet. Elpis comes in as a very close second. What an absolute gorgeous zone and I let out an audible gasp when I realized it wasn't just a duty or tiny area but an entire zone to explore.

I didn't think Endwalker could ever top Shadowbringers in my heart, and somehow it did.

The ending was terrible, we beat the sadness out of a emo girl and she becomes happy and full of hope? What lesson is that? The power of friendship was way over used and predictable. I think The developers over did it with fan service.

I was thinking about the difference between the Meiteions and the Lopporits.

Meiteion was created with curiosity and a mission to find out what made other people want to live, but no fundamental moral base beyond those two things. When confronted with the inability to fulfill her mission (because everyone else she met was either already dead or wanted to die) she had nothing left to fall back on. She was created as an innocent, and she loved her master, but did not love the people of Aumarot or Elpis the same way.

The Lopporits, on the other hand, were created with that same curiosity, and the mission to save the people of Etheirys, but more importantly, they were given a deep and abiding love for the people of the planet above all else. That is why, when their mission could not be fulfilled as originally planned, they were totally on board with just chilling on the planet and learning more about it.

Venat learned from Hermes' mistake.

EW just really lacked a lot of punch. There were some "ooh shit" points but sitting here thinking about the msq as a whole...It didn't really do much for me. Why is this also the second xpac in a row with no Doma people. It's like they were so important in SB then nothing. After all we've been through with Cid, Nero etc etc etc...the end was just empty. Metieon herself would have had way more of an impact on me had she been fleshed out a lot more especially since she is the end. In elpis I was hoping to see other famous ascians...just felt like there was so much more potential in every regard.... now what I DO like about the xpac is my job changes (I only play SAM), the dungeons and 8 players, the 90 class gear design just looks incredible on my elezen, the music was great as usual, the voice acting was perfect. I like everything except the msq. However knowing this isn't the finale of 14, perhaps it feels this way on purpose and was meant to leave you with questions?
