Prime time on a Saturday, joined a 1100 queue, albeit on a low pop world (or at least we once were, dunno how the numbers are lately).
Launch day is always the worst. It slowly eases up from there.
I got in a 4000 ppl queue today but I wasn't hit by the 2002 error.
Things are a lot worse on my end today. Queue is MUCH longer than before for me. Also, I'm getting 2002 errors more often. I could usually get some playtime in if I started queue at 2:30 to 3:00pm where I live (prime is at 5 to 9 where I live). I tried as usual to log in at 3pm, but I was unable to get in to play the game at all this time. I've given up for today.
I started out as willing to forgive Square for these constant issues, particularly after dealing with it from other MMOs for years. Now, however, its getting tiresome. Particularly since I'm fairly certain that those with an Endwalker license on their accounts are getting priority over someone who only has a sub with Shadowbringers. I sat in a 4k queue for four hours earlier, dealing with multiple 2002s, and the queue never went down in that entire time. Its always been accurate previously, but now it just decides to not be accurate? I'm not buying that for an instant. I am definitely leaning more towards the crowd that says additional server hardware should have been implemented after the launch of Shadowbringers, long before Covid brought companies this "chip shortage".
I reckon the only silver lining here is that at this rate, I'm looking at an entire month of subscription time I technically don't have to pay for before this issue stops being an issue-- provided Square doesn't just stop at the extra seven days compensation.
are you meaning unplayable because you have to wait in a queue to get in? or many errors? or you got in and the game kept crashing on you?
the queues will be around for a good while. even during slow times there is a queue of sorts, typically 30 or so people for me, but hardly intimidating. with an expansion launch, there is always going to be a queue for a while. more people wnat to play than there is space for. thats in most mmo's. errors, well, different story.
if your game is crashing, I hope you are reporting that. I personally have had no issues playing, its been very smooth in game. so, might help if you clarify where the issue is exactly
