Have fun with beta testing a patch while ps3 players are testing the game on a console version that has yet to be released

In October the PC ver 2.0 Client gets distributed.
In November PS3 FFXIV goes into Beta
In November PC FFXIV goes into Beta
In November XIV will be on the ver 2.0 client.
I'm thinking since they will be wanting to see how the platforms interact with eachother, they will at somepoint in time merge them to the same server. With such a narrow window of beta testing (Nov-Jan) I'm gonna say they will probably have the lowest population servers as PS3 Beta targets from the get go.
Its the clients being beta tested not the server, both players will be Beta testing the game on the same servers, playing as we normally do now, the only difference is we'll be helping to squash out client bugs (since the content is being copied)
Cross platform software doesn't interact with one another, if the software is made properly it will communicate the same way with the server regardless of platform.
Obviously there may be problem specific to the platform but again that's a software thing, the only difference is that a PS3 is using PSN, but its not a big one.
I can't see why they can't have beta for PC and PS3 on the same server.
I'm going to play it on PS3 to see how it is.. never got the chance to do that with FFXI.. so this is something exciting for me!!.. also since its the "Actual Launch" for the PS3 Version.. I believe they will be shipping out discs.. but maybe not who knows really :P.. but since everything is going downloads now in days.. Probably right PSN Download.
The question is: Get old chars and new chars the same server for beta? Or do we all need to make new chars for the beta?
SE said with 2.0 new players can join a new or old server, but an old player can only transfer his char to an old server and not to a new server.
I'm hoping the beta will be bundled with a Final Fantasy Versus XIII demo.
