People can request features at any time, spark discussion of the possibility, and if it were to gain enough traction potentially have something worked on when possible. It's not like it'd be a priority even if the development team thought it was a good idea, it'd definitely be on a backburner.

Pretty normal for people to post about stuff they want. What's not normal is all of the people who immediately came in here acting like it was the most ridiculous suggestion ever, or like the OP was a troll for posting it. That definitely speaks to a bias.

I mean I think it'd be awesome, specifically because it'd mean more free teleports, but given they're adjusting teleports to be a bit more of a (at first glance seemingly inconsequential??) gil sink I doubt they'd do it. The free wedding gives the teleporty ring too after all :p

And just as it's normal for people to post about stuff they want, it's also pretty normal for people to post why they think it's a bad idea or why they think devs should focus on something else first.

The only bias I see is you choosing to see people that disagree with OP's suggestion as some sort of "polyamorphobic" people.
