From 15 years WoW to FF

After level 50, every 10 levels is a different expansion's rotation and maybe the core rotation feels completely different in another expansion. A good example is paladin that goes from being completely melee in ARR and Heavensward to having a ranged magic phase in Stormblood and on. How do you create a feeling of rotation progression and something that feels new and fresh every expansion, if you just give it all right away in ARR?

To some extent I agree about the combat stuff but I also think it has a lot to do with being so used to WoW.
If you come in with no past experience and biases I actually wonder if it'd really feel so '' bad '' at first?

WoW isn't that exciting either at low levels and it doesn't branch out the way it does in FFXIV the rotations don't change as drastically and are more repetitive.
But low level it feels faster and more responsive.

That is exactly what I’m asking for.

A lot of skills and abilities were dropped from ARR and HW, making the jobs kind of bland. It used to be at the very least you could add cross class skills. I forget exactly, but there were many options like being able to toss in a Stoneskin as any job to assist the healer. Or aero for a bonus DoT. There was a lot of variety in the 1-30 spectrum to keep it interesting…now not so much.

Yeah the first 30 levels are the worst, I thought the next 20 weren’t so bad because abilities started popping through so I felt like I was getting somewhere. It was hard though having 2 buttons to press for the longest time, if it wasn’t for the encouragement of the person who got me here I probably wouldn’t have been able to stick with it. I don’t think they need to give you all the buttons right away, but a few more especially at those early levels would be nice.

Maybe i'm a minority here but i for one didn't mind the first 50 levels at all. Leveling up went so fast i didn't have the time to be that bored.

I disagree with the OP. Having also recently come over from WoW, the game is al ready overwhelming enough early on. Every time you turn around you are getting something new thrown at you as it is.

Pretty sure this is why its free up to HS now
everyone knows HS is where it gets gud

It takes a few hours to complete including cutscenes. If you want a skip buy it.

The ARR bashing is way overblown. ARR was a fantastic experience in 2013. It doesn't hold up to the current standard but it is still absolutely fine especially after the quest trim and addition of flying.

My only worry about the influx of wow players is that they'll beg the final fantasy xiv team for changes that can potentially F up the game
