Considering how none of their job dev team really mains healers, it all make sense now why healer design has come down to what we have (and will get in EW). Combine that with their ignorance, all we can do is just Glare, literally & figuratively.

Yeah, that's about accurate, although I toss in more Regens every now and then too. Many fights don't require continuous healing, so really limited DPS attacks end up being a majority of my time as a White Mage, which gets really boring really quickly; I wish there wasn't such a villainization of attacking as a healer even when it's the most practical thing to do a lot of the time, but that became especially apparent after seeing Energy Drain's potency lowered specifically for reasons related to unsuccessfully limiting how often Scholars attack.
Limiting DPS actions without making fights require more continuous healing doesn't mean that healers will DPS less; it just means that they'll have more repetitive gameplay during those periods of attacking.
Completely removing the thing that kept WHM interesting in making use of the limited weaving windows to optimize movement. Clipping could've been addressed more elegantly but this is just murdering one of WHM's core identity features it's beyond me how it's "good QoL" for so many people.
Hey, don't attack Glare. WHM is so powerful they can kill things simply by standing there and looking at them angrily. How can you be mad at that? :p
what? this doesn't represent whm gameplay at all!
it's *precast glare, dia, assize, presence of mind*! you're losing all that assize cooldown without fitting it into the dia weave window /j
And it's not changing because the Devs are good with how things are /shrugs.
If you don't like it play a different job.
Clipping wasn't an identity duh, but being immobile and needing to make good use of your tools to be where you need to be when you need to be was a big part of WHM's identity.
They could've added something like triple cast or a GCD with a unique cooldown à la drill to both keep the movement resource management and address the clipping without basically turning it into AST.
OP is wrong.
Forgot a Glare.
