There was definitely another person that said something something "you people"

I was trying to stand up for the community and people started jumping all over me lol.
As for funny moment: Hildebrand in a dress trying to pass for the princess in the SB hildebrand quests.
Hostile? I really doubt that people can be openly hostile about it but still, I am ready to talk down on a homophobic straight dude/woman who still hasn't realized that they are in no place to be telling others what's the natural way of using bodies. Them being idiots is not enough of a reason for me to be patient with them.
I definitely don't think they don't exist in FFXIV, I mean look at the discrepancy between peoples attitudes towards literally anything even remotely slightly sexual on Reddit and ingame.
On Reddit people see a bit of legs and fanart and they flip out about it and constantly pull the whole '' not like other girls '' crap and it gets upvoted, which is clearly not true if you actually look ingame and how most people play the game.
As soon as one of them starts and gets a little bit of support it easily spirals from there and the bad people come out of the woodworks.
But they're still out there.
To some people basically anything sexual and/ or not ultra modest is seen as '' sexual deviancy and immoral '', and a lot of people view the mere existence of other sexualities as almost like a sexual fetish.
So they view basically any expression of anything LGBT as sexualization and they think that any of that in public or out in the open is wrong.
I think it's all part of that same puritan mentality whether it's losing their minds because of cleavage or because of the existence of LGBT people.
It's all about being offended about perceived sexuality the only thing that changes is where the line is and what they perceive as sexual.
I mean look at people flipping out about breastfeeding.
And then you get people who get offended by cleavage but not breastfeeding, it doesn't make any actual objective sense when you really start just asking yourself the simple question of '' why '' when you get offended by these things.
These things and people getting offended by them is all totally arbitrary I don't even think that most people know why they have a problem with it it's just a purely emotional response.
There are too many for myself to choose from, lol!
1. Sidurgu constantly threatening to butcher the Moogles
2. Estinien getting angry at the moogles and completely being fed up with them and calling them "flying rats" or something like that.
3. Lyse kicking blackmarket Namasu up in the air for lying.
4. Every single time Aliphanid gets embarrassed.
5. The Warrior of Light misremembering what all the primal looked like when helping create new ones on the First and the dialogue about them.
I'm not often in the forums at all in all the years since I started playing, the stuff I've seen lately makes me think that was probably the best decision. Maybe I just chose a bad time to start reading and engaging more but it's just wild to me certain users don't get banned after several days of saying very homophobic things, and all their posts are about riling people up. It's incredibly malicious. I've started using my ignore list, which is something I rarely resort to doing anywhere online, but when someone is going the extra mile to be that gross, then I don't wanna see it, not worth my time. Reported several things as well.
And to answer with my favorite funny moment... Alphinaud telling someone (keeping it vague for spoilers) they need a mirror, not a painting. Serious cutscene but very funny and satisfying burn.
Of course the flaming troll would have to come here as well.
Alphanaud talking about when Y'shtola emerged naked from the lifestream being a sight he would never forget... while she was present to hear it.
^^ cringe.
Anyways, this thread is super sweet! ^-^
For me it's the most recent meme of Nanamo's face.
I hate to be like "It's WoW players!"... But the FFXIV Community was surprisingly non homophobic until the surge in WoW players so... Call me a tinfoil hat, but I feel like we're getting a few of those trolls.
