I loved that game but as it was stated before, it probably left to small a mark or was not known enough to be deemed important enough for a FFXIV crossover/event.

At least I can get a crystal caravan mount in the cash shop
Crystal Chronicles was my favorite childhood game, always going to my friend's house to play with him and his sister...I would love some references to it, I even made a hyur girl once with the long brown hair cos it reminded me of clavats. Even just an armor set would be nice.
Ahhh yes the game that let me draw di........dice on moogles.
Crystal Chronicles was basically my first Final Fantasy. I got super hyped when it came out for Switch/PS years later.
Unfortunately, I know it's not a well known game in the series, since it was on Nintendo and wasn't a numbered episode.
I would've loved to get a papaopamus' minion for exemple, it could be so adorable !
It wasn't a bad game (what little of it I played at least) and I wouldn't be opposed to a crossover...but I'm not exactly cheering it on either. Wasn't an FF I particularly liked.
I'm currently replaying it atm. Its a clear cash grab as it is probably one of the laziest remakes to date but the charm is still there and I do enjoy it in short bursts, having played the og gamecube with the gba's. Also I would recommend people avoid using female selkie mimics if you are playing on the PS5 via PS4 backwards compatibility, since there is a game breaking bug that puts you in an infinite load screen. The cash shop items might also be affected so buyer beware.
That said, I also thought a crossover of the 4 race gears would fit pretty well in FFXIV.
-Clavats = Hyur, Viera
-Lilties = Lalafell, Roegadyn
-Yukes = Elezen, Aura
-Selkie = Miqote, Hrothgar
Crystal Chronicles are spin-off games and I would prefer if they never mixed with Final Fantasy XIV or any other main (numbered) game.
I tried several times to play those Crystal Chronicles but frankly they were boring and kiddy-like, and the chibi-style also made it less appealing for my tastes.
Final Fantasy IX is a beautiful game and a main title too.
The chibi-characters do not bother me in the original game, now, after Dissidia there's no way I would accept a FFIX Remake with chibi-style, I hope Square-Enix has that in consideration if they ever decide to make it a reality.
Final Fantasy Tactics and the Crystal Chronicle series are probably just quick money for SE, they just make them to have a presence in handhelds and other less important consoles, they reserve the main dishes for the best systems like PC and the PlayStation 5.
I just don't give much importance to spin-off games, SE can do whatever they want but don't expect me to like them or encourage any type of collaboration.
