Blizzard don't have to take console into consideration, and it's not like wow is a graphical monster compared to 14, granted 14 has some terrible textures.

Fusing the towns back to 1 area may be possible, since we have big Kugane and Cristarium. It's just the usual problem of "updating old content" which FFXIV devs are allergic to.
remove all loading. remove screens entirely. just shove more RAM into your PC and chant blockchain till you achieve light speed connectivity
This.
I never really played 1.0 but I've listened to explenations about the old loading screens.
They disguised it as narrow pathways that blocked the line of sight of the old and new area and while you ran there the game was loading in the new zone while phasing out of the old one outside of the players field of vision.
Yeah. Making even just the two halves of the older cities fit together would quire a good deal of additional work for little actual payoff. Let alone outdoor zones even in the same region.
It'd be nice but the devs have new zones to be working on, not worth the time and resources it would take compared to doing new areas.
And in EW things are way too disconnected geographically so even if they 'were' at a point they could say, put all six of an expansoin's zones into one instance, which I doubt they are, they wouldn't be able to do it in 6.0 either.
This reminds me of somethign WoW did in a lot of its city entrances. You walk in the gate, and there's a wall you have to run around before you get into the actual city to buy time for things to load.
In Metroid Prime new rooms would load when you shot a door to open it, and you could tell sometimes it was struggling when it'd take several seconds for one to open.
Little disguises like that for load times aren't all that uncommon.
If we want to remove loading screens, we need to drop yet another Dalamud on Eorzea and wait 2-3 years.
I'm definitely up for it would we rework glamour system around the way, but without it..
Hard pass
