What are your thoughts on the new relic

Got mine in a day on MNK. Looks awful but I can’t deny it’s BiS and no effect version will pass as glamour when it’s use has dried up.

I think they mostly look pretty cool and overall the process was good with the exception of Delubrum Reginae which had a lot of potential but ultimately turned into a let down due to how some members of our community have chosen to approach it. I hope they keep peoples behavior in mind when designing future content so they don't repeat the same mistake.

Haven't finished the grind yet but, appearance wise, they're pretty awful. I'm not usually into the super sparkly glowy weapons in general but these are easily the worst of the bunch yet. The only one I like is the AST weapon and then the SAM sword is decent (but there are already so many nice SAM swords anyway). I hope someone likes the rest of them because I definitely don't.

Alright so I have gotten my dark knight "Relic" every expac and nothing annoys me more is when they do a one-eighty on the design. For lvl 80 Dark knight it has been this long gothic medieval straight sword and now for the final stage it has becomes a curve blade without a handle? It has lost completely lost any resemblance of the previous versions. Like if they are going to keep these weapon systems going they need to add and not completely just throw in a new weapon. I am only doing the final stage to complete the quest, but will not be using that sword.

The particle effect on them reminds me of the Epitaph weapons from .hack/G.U. I think they are fantastic looking.

One thing I noticed when I actually got a hold of Blade's Honor (PLD) is that they do not preview well and that they look much better close up. For example, it is close to impossible to see that the blade part of Blade's Honor is supposed to look like a starry sky in preview.

They have been doing the new unique model then new glow since 2.45 with the Relic Nexus -> Zodiac Weapon step. Did you forget that Deathbringer, Nothung, Guillotine of the Tyrant and Cronus look nothing a like? Caladbolg, Elemental Guillotine and Xiphias are similarly disconnected models.

I believe they do this to give multiple glamour choices as compared to 1 model with color changes and different glows of the original relics.
