Yep, sucks. Finally get an option that doesn't leave out Steam users but then their store isn't accessible and it's so limited it sells out even before the first day of Fan Fest is over.

What irks me is they didn't even announce the pre-order on the actual stream but randomly turned them on afterwards. I don't see any reason to make them so limited.
I watched the stream but didn't see they were going on sale. If its a pre order shouldn't they make as many that get ordered it doesn't even come out for 6 months? Will there be more that are sold? I seem to miss out a lot on getting a collectors edition the only one I was able to get was Heavensward.
Imagine not knowing they'd be doing that and, y'know, sleeping or something, only to wake up and find they were already sold out.
Yep, I went looking for them during the keynote and opening ceremony and there was nothing yet. They didn't have anything saying when they would be available and then like you said, they just randomly turned them on.
There is zero reason to do this. Maybe Japanese consumers accept it more but they have a lot of consumers outside of Japan and this limited run stuff doesn't hold up out here.
meanwhile, on the EU store preorders for the collectors edition & box haven't even opened yet
I don't see anything about Playstation versions of these? They just mention Windows and Mac. Before I go dropping 200$ on the pre-order and collector's box (whenever it is restocked), am I to assume because it is digital only that the PS4/5 version is compatible with these purchases?
The CE is non-platform as it has no copy of the expansion included - the expansion is digital download only now so you have to buy the expansion itself seperately. It's just the items. Which explains why the expansion is quite cheap but still.
This is what was said, but the link with the product seems to say otherwise, which is why I am confused.

The Collector's edition box says it come with the digital version of the game, but only for Windows and Mac. And when I try to buy the regular pre-order above, it also only has Windows and Mac options. This may be the way it was for Shadowbringers too, but my memory is fuzzy on what I did back then, heh. EDIT: O I see a link now to the PS Store version for the regular pre-orders, but I still don't know exactly what I am getting if I buy the collector's box thing at the bottom. Not being able to click the link since it is sold out doesn't help.
Just to be clear, this is the part that is confusing me:
AVAILABLE PRODUCTS
COLLECTOR'S EDITION
A bundle containing a copy of the Endwalker Digital Collector's Edition for Windows® and Mac players, and the physical Collector's Box.
COLLECTOR'S BOX
Comprised of a set of five items: Endwalker Special Art Box, Expertly Crafted Paladin Figure, Art Collection & Frame Set, Azem Pin, and Loporrit Mini Plush.
That seems to say that if you click that link (when you can) you will get the box AND the game itself (but only for PC), no?
Oh yes, I just read it too, it seems there is two physical CEs - a EW 'Collector's Edition' for Windows and Mac that includes a digital download edition of the game, and the 'Collector's Box' that doesn't include that and just has the items - presumedly the 'download' is a code bundled within that is redeemed on the SE Store to acquire the expansion.
Also, I noted a small detail in the product description for the 'Collector's Box':
So that's at least one thing that will be available through alternative means if I am unable to get this (I hope the Azem Crystal pin is also offered the same way).Quote:
