On one hand, I agree.
On the other, it is pretty on theme that there is chance in a casino game. It makes more sense than Leap of Faith or the rail shooter.

Excuse me I have been on the game for a bout a year now but I have not explored the Gold Saucer much yet, may I ask what this thread is about specifically?
All the GATEs (mini-events in the Gold Saucer) used to take place in the zone itself. Over the years they've removed old GATEs and added new ones and now most are instanced, meaning the zone itself is more empty while they GATEs are active and you can no longer participate while in the duty queue.
I think lack of rewards is the issue. They haven’t added any real GP sink items in a long time. I’ve got a few million GP that I’ll never even use because there’s nothing left to buy.
Take this last patch for example. No mounts, minions, glamours or hairstyles. Just one card. One.
As fun as the events were when new, the novelty wears off. And once the novelty wears off it becomes about the reward. And sadly there aren’t any.
I can only hope they add some mega expensive mount or something in Endwalker to inject a bit of life into it.
I don't think they should have anything more mgp then the literal Gold Saucer as a mount but yes, they should add more items in there, considering how easy it is to get mgp by doing the Challenge Log and Fashion Report. Add dancer and Gunbreaker saucer weapons, add some more 1 million mgp mounts, maybe even add harder to get TT cards available for lots of mgp.
There's a thought. For 200k MGP you can buy a pack that gives you a random card you don't already own (excluding achievement rewards and tournament only cards, and such.) Would be a decent MGP sink as well as a fallback option for people who just can't seem to get certain drops.
It's the RNG I dislike.
Leap of Faith and Air Force One are great since they're entirely skill based and any failure is entirely my responsibility. I loathe the Slice is Right, though - more than once I've almost won only to lose entirely due to RNG.
The perplexing thing about MGP rewards is that it doesn't take a lot of imagination to get a whole bunch of existing things as prizes for relatively little work from the developer. Housing NPCs based on the bunny vendors, Gold Saucer deco like the golden statues of Godbert, or removing the gender restrictions on some of the prizes would immediately garner interest. I know these are not as simple as ticking some boxes, but it is undoubtedly comparatively simpler than stuff like new emotes or mounts.
