New hairstyle & Rynes outfit incoming

Love the hairstyle!

Agreed. I don't really want to open Pandora's box and know technically hair has no gender, but "we're making a cute hairstyle for all you lovely female characters!...oh and males can use it too I guess" is hardly unisex imo.

I'm sick of stupid short hair.... It's gotten old last year ago.

Looks great on females. LMAO at this hair on males.

This is pretty much why I won't make a male character in this game. If they keep releasing feminine styles or outfits for everything, I'll just play females. There aren't even any short, masculine styles that I can really think. Actually, I don't think there is even a proper buzzed cut, and stubble is the hardest thing for them to add to the game, apparently. Also, the male faces generally suck, but that's besides the point.

It's not even like the population of players playing male characters is low either! :confused:

Yep! It's all medium length, unisex styles. They either do unisex styles, or obviously female styles. They don't make any actual short hair, the kind that would look good on males, or at least more good western styles.

But hey, if you measure with the latest styles added with ShB, the number is almost even out, if I go very superficially interpreting what is feminine x masculine regarding the cut.
-4 masculine styles
-5 feminine styles (counting with the one in the video if not it's even)
-The twin's hairstyle, which I'm putting separate but it reads more boy than girl

Overall, I'd say they've been even in regading catering to one side or the other, and the added bonus of every style ever since ShB not being genderlocked.

My issue tho, is that a lof of these hairstyles are just too similar. They follow somewhat of a formula, and sans for a few examples, go out for different shapes and styles.

Tbh I'd say those are the ones that are truly unisex, since they look good on either men or women, but some hairstyles, like this ponytail, are clearly made with female characters in mind, and males as an afterthought (if even).

The last masculine hairstyle added imo, was this one

To be fair female characters look really good in the super short cuts like that one as well, depending on who you ask. I agree with needing more masculine hair but I also agree that a lot of the ones we have gotten are technically male hair styles since they were inspired by or ripped off of male characters. Alphinaud’s hair, legendary locks (? I think thats’s the name), 9S, and windcaller are all from male characters. The weird asymmetrical messy one from Ishgard was from the contest, which used a male character as the model, so I have to think it was intended to lean more masculine than feminine.

I am curious, genuinely, what kind of short and masculine styles people would like to see that aren’t already in the game. Something simple like a buzz cut across all races? Or that style that is shorter on the sides that gets longer and more styled at the top?
