That should be your real suggestion, right there. Getting rid of the relocation system would put an FC killer into a social game, so that's obviously not an option.

Though much like you think of my price suggestion, I think the numbers are high. Maybe one relocation a day is a good limit. That way a plot's hidden timer could expire before the same person can relocate it again.

With your reconsidered suggestion making it so any person or FC could only move an existing house once a day/week, each relocation would have to be well considered. Now you have to think about if this plot is your end goal and worth this day/week's relocation, or if it's merely a stepping stone that could cost you a valuable opportunity later.

The only concern is this brings the FC killer back, just with reduced frequency since it'll only apply to FCs wanting a second relocation within a day/week, rather than every FC anywhere that wants to relocate, ever.

the best way to solve this is to have a loot roll system like in every duty in the game ever you have say a 2-3 hour timer when the timer reaches 0 who ever rolls the highest within that 2-3 hour window wins the house it's that simple to fix everyone can do it weather you have a house or not it's fair it's in almost every duty in the game complete RnG nobody ever complains about a loot roll and if you roll low like a 10 you know your not gonna win and you can move on to another plot to try your chances there if you roll high you know you can stay wait out that 2-3 hour window if you win it's fair, the current way of it spamming buttons 1 million times is wrong, you roll you wait you win some you lose at least you wouldn't have to spam a stupid button for 22 hours a day until you win

No it shouldn't. Relocations is one of the better features available and allows people to upgrade to a larger house or a better location. It does not remove a house from the market only changes the location. No problem with a cooldown for reuse however.

As much as we would all absolutely LOVE to have the housing issues fixed, Square Enix priorities are clearly not part of housing. Sure, they will throw some wards to try and appease the masses, but it unfortunately only appeases the minority of the masses - because those are the ones with a house.

It's a garbage system. We have to live with it, because they aren't going to change it. Instanced housing is obviously the answer, and not a ward system that can't handle the load. I still don't understand this, because I am not privy to the server model schema that SE employs, but there are older games out there able to perfectly handle this type of system (DAoC for one) and not have a problem with housing or server issues, even when it was implemented. This is either an underperforming server farm, or a poorly implemented plan, or a combination. Either way, we are stuck with someone who doesn't have any business with setting up this type of environment, yet they are hell-bent on keeping the ward system for that 'neighborly' feeling.

It sounds more like a pride problem on Square's end.

I'm going to be bold here, me and my friend lost a house recently because we missed the 45 day deadline by 24 hours and have recently been waiting hours and hours by multiple plots and have seen the majority taken by someone relocating with one button when people without a house have been waiting 2-22 hours on more than one occasion. Changes I want to see:
1. relocating should be abolished, if you have a house you should have to wait like everyone else and you should have to demolish your house to even be able to buy another.
2. 22 hours is far too long to have people waiting for a plot especially if they wait 22 hours and miss out.
3. I think it should be a first come first served basis.
4. you should not be able to relocate from a small to another small and only from a small to a medium or medium to a large (if point 1 doesn't happen).
5. there should be a minimum wait time for the time you demolish your house to be able to buy another say 24 hours, 1 week or even 1 month (to encourage people to be sure if they're buying a house they should stick with that house and be happy because you're lucky enough to have one on such a busy server).

I think nearly all your concerns would be addressed by a lottery system to make it super fair and square.

You can run up to a plot you wish to buy, buy a lottery ticket that's the price of the plot from the house's placard, and the ticket gets refunded back once the winner has been drawn and has claimed their prize within 24-hours, if not, those with tickets still will be re-entered.


I don't have an issue with relocation because you're making space in another area and I think punishing those who own houses isn't the way to fix the system.

I don't have an issue with relocation because you're making space in another area and I think punishing those who own houses isn't the way to fix the system.

This gets suggested frequently but it grossly underestimates the actual potential outcome.

Imagine if all you had to do to get a chance as the house was buy a ticket. What if you could buy more than one? Not only that, but how many more people would you have to fight to get the house, since they too can just buy one or more tickets?

Does the server refund all your Gil for your non-winning tickets? If not, what’s fair about that?

A lottery seems good on the surface but when you start to analyze it as an option it really starts to show its flaws.

Lottery plays into the hands of people with multiple accounts and people who are botting. There's a reason it isn't in use.

I think it's massively unfair that someone that already has a house can come and take a plot away from someone who's been waiting say more than 10 hours at that plot yes it might open another plot but then the timer is reset and might not become available to buy until the 22nd hour I think if you don't show up within the 1st hour of the plot going active you shouldn't be able to relocate plain and simple because you're screwing people over that have probably waited up to 22 hours on more than one occasion

You camp once, then it's over. Once you're personally done with your camp, you'll be glad you don't have to camp a medium, you just get to move in.

A longer cooldown for relocation is possibly a good idea. Abolishing relocation just isn't. The relocation system was an improvement to a bad system that still needs a lot of improvement. Taking an improvement away just makes it worse.

Today your attitude about relocation is this. Tomorrow you'll be screaming a new tune once you get your house and they do abolish relocation and suddenly you can't move into that medium or large you wanted for so long. People's opinions change so much along this process. You will be no exception.
