This. I would like to see it similar to blue mage spell book(maybe still keep an element of needing to learn it through combat) where it's in there, and you can select up to X of them to have on you at that point in time, and the cache chest is where you can swap them out for a different one

Not really? I've tanked Delubrum as a SAM before when our only tank left, tank busters won't do any more damage than a normal tank light CD'ing them would with the right essence.

The Pure Essences are insanely OP, they give you ridiculous amounts of HP%+ and defense%+ (Pure essence of the duelist gives you almost 160k HP, which is almost 30-40k more than a normal tank not using any defensive essences iirc.) and they're quite easy to get a hold of (3x clusters for 1 fragment with a decent droprate).

Dps can tank with no issue in Delubrum, since all the tank busters don't even 1-shot a tank with no essence not throwing any CDs on them, and the dps pure essences make the dps tankier than a normal non-defensive essence'd tank.
Plus, banner of firm resolve gives you 3mins of 30% damage mitigation once its procced, making you even harder to kill, and lost incense is an on-demand rampart on top of a super aggro generator. This is even before the fact several of the dps jobs have special tools to mitigate damage/lifesteal (SAM having third eye + merciful eyes along with bloodbath, MNK having fists of earth along with bloodbath, SMN/BLM having 20% self shields, etc.)

You may enjoy black and white thinking (everyone must be perfect or everyone must be awful), but I don't play that game. My point was that some people are going to be bad, and expecting them to do more than is expected of their role is a waste of time, because you're not going to get that without a premade group, and even then sometimes people still lag behind. Don't pretend that that's not true.

No. Tank essences for healers and DPS jobs drastically increase defense and HP.

At least with DR you can access your storage box to get your actions.
You don't need to worry about role restrictions.

If you haven't stocked up on various actions to help you cover roles, well you have other tasks than going into DR then.

Or... they could just let us change jobs at the entrance and avoid the issue entirely.

Had a few runs without any Tanks where a DD tanked instead. DR is designed around that way and thanks to the lost actions which can turn anyone into a healer/tank/dps it's no problem at all.

It'd be a neat quality of life change, so I'm all for it. My latest run through the place took longer than it needed to because seven people left right at the start. We managed to make it through despite the handicap but some of the fights were close calls.

If they really want to people to use Lost Actions they need to do a few things first, as the LA's are plagued by the same problems the Logos Actions had in Eureka (where few people actually used them):


* explain clearly were you can actually get them from (forcing you to google them is a bad choice)
* drastically reduce the number of sources you get them from
* increase the drop rate
* make all lost fragments buyable from clusters or coins


Currently these are plagued by the all to familiar 99 Elixir syndrome from other FF games: you don't dare to spent them in fear that might need them later and they are so really rare. I have a rather filled chest myself but considering the large amount of DR runs I have to do for my relics I will stop using them as they won't last for very long.

It is not needed, enter on the role you feel like, you can do it if every 24 people is DPS, as long as you remember to enable the lost actions, that is the entire point about it, you enter, you are locked to x job you picked.
