Having To Buy A Set Of Gear For Each Crafting Job, Why?

You're describing a situation that hasn't been a problem for three years. The high-end scrip gear for lv 70 is equippable by all DoH classes, same with lv 80. Maybe explore a bit more of the game first before you rush off to the forums with another suggestion. You might even discover that it's already been implemented.

people just used Overmeld Crafted ironworks anyway for crafters back then

well it isnt so much scripts to buy these gear , yet it might sounds like a problem, but as others said its everytime like this. if you wanna one highest gear for lvl60 try ask someone to craft it for you - i think ironworks gear , easy to craft , might cheap or just easy to get mats . if youre gated by HW there is no real reason why to have the scripted or highest possible gear anyway, when there wasnt any SB expansion, people just did their weeklies and craft some collectables. so i dont think you will change devs perspective of this. i must say , there is no reason anyway for these scripted gear besides glam in ShB , bcs you can do other things , like making gils, from which you can buy highest possible gear .

The level 70 and 80 gear is quite irrelevant for someone who does not own the Shadowbringers (or Stormblood) expansion. Without the expansion you can't get any higher than level 60.

I suggest NOT to acquire lvl 50/60/70 gear, but just go straight for lvl 51/61/71, which is super cheap and easy to craft them yourself. And they are shared among all classes. Why waste all that effort to acquire endgame gear of previous expansions while just being 1 lvl higher allows you to use the lowest lvl shared gear of the next expansion? @_@

In this particular case - because the OP only owns the base game and not any of the expansions, and is therefore limited to level 60.

I understand that the OP can't go beyond lvl 60 at the moment. But it's just not worth wasting all those scrips on gear that becomes almost obsolete in just 1 level, especially when the gear is class-specific... Probably should just get Stormblood and Shadowbringers... Might as well spend those yellow scrips on Tier V materia, slithersand for i490 gear (or sell for gil) or even those oddly-specific mats for obtaining Skysung tools...

If the OP won't be getting the expansion set in the near future, then spending the scrip on the gear is as good a choice as any other. They don't have access to the level 61 and 70 scrip options so no Slithersand or Oddly Specific material (which doesn't even appear unless you've started the Skysteel quests).
