It's a bit of both to be fair
All lalafells in the game have appearances remotely similar to children(They are disproportionately stocky)but are adults.

They could be compared to the "I'm a 1,000 year old demon with the appearance of a prepubescent human" trope

I personally find Lalafell incredibly charming. I keep race changing to one then swapping back because being so little gives me a headache. Something about the camera (even when adjusted) and keeping track of my character on the screen just messes with me. If not for that I'd main Lala. They have the most personality of all the races and some of the most dense lore.

BTW I know this topic is a meme (that was never funny and gets less so the more it's brought up) but in Eorzea your character could marry a lalafell and probably nobody would question it. Lalafell we run into in the game are adults. Absolute, total adults. The sooner we accept this the sooner we, as a community, can move on.

Wait, I thought Lala were bait. My FSH is max level, but I still need chum when I go out on a boat.

Yes they are children. Ya nast.

I like Lalafell too... when they actually act like adults.

I've certainly seen my share of people who RP lalafell like they're children, which I ain't touching with a 30 yalm pole.

My preference is for classy, mature lalafell like Krile.
