Friend List: Notes system?

I totally support this idea. I've also wished for something similar for ages.

Some things to ponder before 'cool new feature' is requested:

How many characters do you need to write the note? (Multiply that by the maximum number of 'friends' you can have.) Where are these notes going to be stored? Do you want this stored on the SE server side?

How much would it be worth to you each month to be able to cover the costs of eternal storage for everyone's friends list notes, just on the chance that when you take a break for a year or six, your list comes back? (Believe me when I tell you there are no-longer players who had extensive friends lists for which this storage would be required).

I also support this idea as it has been a long desired feature.

As to the people telling you what you should do instead: You know that age old expression "No one asked you?" That applies to you. How terribly rude and unlike the majority of this fine community to demean a person's well intended feature suggestion with your higher than thou advice.

"Why don't you just ask them?" -- What a brilliant bit of advice! I am certain the OP did not consider that option! You should be a life coach!

I would imagine it's client side like it is in other games. Elder Scrolls Online has this feature. Guild Wars 2 as well as World of Warcraft also has this feature if I recall accurately.

Fully supported and very much needed.

Much and more is client side on those other games. But, if you haven't noticed, this is not a PC-only game and most features are definitely server-side.

Yes, I noticed. Most my friends are on PS4. There is a lot that is still client side. I am unsure how this operates within the PS4 version but for an example; all of the UI settings are client side. This simple text feature would likely be client side as well and perhaps (sadly) a PC only feature unless the PS4 has the ability to story client settings? I don't know. I haven't had a real console since PS2 and just stick to the Switch these days :p
