Why does nobody want to do Castrum Lacus in Bozja?

The instance isn't much fun, the rewards aren't worthwhile, and the mettle penalty for dying when you don't get any for clearing is obnoxious. Combined with having to wait up to an hour for the chance to enter in the first place, it's not worth the time to do it once you've cleared the story quest. Unless you really want that title for clearing it 50 times, but good luck.

It should reward a decent amount of gil and mettle upon a clear. As well as other items such as rare minions and Triple Triad cards. A handful of clusters would be of benefit as well.

Like so much content in the game, however, it lacks any real staying power - and it'll likely only be adjusted when it's time for the development team to funnel people through it to advance to next part of the story.

I like Castrum personally, but both it and Bozja in general have a far more limited lifespan for most players than Eureka did.

You get the majority of rewards week one and the relic is an effortless few hours on HW Fates and Antitower. The Haste gear is ok, but it's nowhere near as good as Eurekan Elemental power, which gave a significant damage and survivability boost, so the Bozja gear isn't really worth the effort. Haste is just a chunk of spell/skill speed and it's doubtful the dps requirements of future areas will require it. Similar to BA, we'll be fine with Essences and decent Lost Actions.

Bozja is just further proof that the Devs mentality of accessibility, ease and fear of asking too much from us is shooting themselves in the foot. Similar to other content in ShB, Bozja is something the developers pour lots of resources, time and effort into only for us to devour it in under a week and move on, because they handed it all over to us right away.
The damage is done really, the only way to make Castrum worth it now is to drown it in rewards. Memories and Exp are so easy to get.

They're fools for not running Castrum. You get 1 coin for a Skirmish, 3 for CEs. Assuming the Castrum run is 30-40m long like usual, and skirmishes are taking 3 minutes to clear (along with CEs), you'd need at least 6 CEs to match the speed of which you can get coins from a Castrum run, and we all know you are not getting 6 CEs in under 30-40m when the Castrum register timer starts (a lot of pre-CE skrimishes are cleared before this happens, and they have a long respawn timer).

The drops from skirmishes and CEs are supplementary, they're basically to help you push for a set of gear. Over the course of an hour and a half (that includes a full Castrum run), you're likely to be around 56 coins, which is about 2-3 pieces of set gear. Over the course of a single lockout of Bozja, that's usually enough to get you a full set of Bozjan gear and start a new one. Without that Castrum run, you're getting far less because the skirmishes triggering CEs are on a respawn timer.

Join a Castrum farm discord. Only way to guarantee you will get a clear.

Since Castrum gives no XP and you often lose mettle during it, I have lately found myself not wanting to join runs since I was levelling jobs and thus Castrum offers nothing of value for me in that case.

They should also make Castrum reward actual job experience. It's worthless to take part of it if you're focused on CEs and Skirmishes to get those 9 levels asap.

They would be fools if the gear was currently worthwhile, but it isn't. Maybe it will be nice to have for the next Bozja tier, or required for an upgrade into actually useful gear like the Pyros sets were, but as of right now it's not going to help you that much. And most people in Bozja right now are leveling alt jobs, so even if they had a fully upgraded set and it was useful they'd be playing on a different job for the exp and be unable to use it.

And as for the speed of getting coins, you're probably still better off doing CEs/Skirmishes because there is almost no chance of failure, but Castrum's failure rate has gone up as the number of people doing it has gone down.

You're doing better than me. I dont think I made it past rank 5 or 6 and haven't been in Bozja in over 2 weeks... :(

Rare is a term for something that's not very common. If you give too many outlets that can give something rare, it becomes common. Some of the minions before now used to be rare, but then got thrown into chests in PotD/HoH/Bozja and have greatly dropped in price. Maybe add some minions you can only get from Bozja and make it a personal drop from the last chest like with the upgrade items.

If they added TT cards, who's to say what kind of drop % they'd give them? We've seen how must of a flustercluck it was from the 24man stuff on if it should drop per person, or if there should be 3 cards at the end everyone has to roll on (And with people arguing that their own interests are more important, who is to say if collecting or getting MGP is really more important).

With gil, how much do you think would be 'decent'?

Mettle drop? That would be more than fair to give people, since you do die so many times normally. But by the time you hit rank 15 in Bozja, mettle is like air from almost everything you do. It's only a chore to get when you're first trying to hit 15/don't have all areas unlocked when there's terrible spacing in the first zone.

A few clusters? Sure, though cluster farming is almost stupid easy at this point and are way too easy to get. I'd rather them add a couple of memories or such with how long Castrum tends to take.
