This game is becoming P2W

Replying because I'm bored - but Augmented Bozjan only adds Haste (skill/spellspeed by ~0.02 per point of haste, woo) on top of the normal Bozjan gear. The augmenting doesn't change any of the existing stats and doesn't affect the iLvl of 495, so it's ALREADY outclassed by existing Edenchoir and Augmented Crystarium kit that we've been able to get for months.


Bozja gear is for catching up, stat optimization for minmaxers, gearing alt jobs, or glams.

Last live letter they talk about the next bozja step and say it will have the normal story instance and a savage one for 24 people. So some people think that we WILL need the augmented bozja stuff for the savage one

if by p2w you mean PLAY to win, then yes... it is that.

So +7 Haste (aka 0.14 skillspeed/spellspeed reduction) from a set is gonna be the difference that makes or break people in 5.4? Seems silly to be honest.

Since BA was organized I have not seen anyone turn a player away because they weren't decked out. Also, if you are able to perform mechanics then you don't need to be decked out because there are actions you can get to help you be safe in the instance.

Ok, so I missed that there is a Savage if its true.
But I think its silly to sit here and say we are gonna "Need" to augment the gear and that it will turn into Pay to Win.

I pay for my sub, and win every time I play. Does that count as p2w?

It's actually nice that they are. Along with some of the other bozjan stuff. It actually makes coins and stuff useful.

Plus it actually helps the economy more than harming it because it allows the gil or wealth to circulate..

If it wasn't for that stuff I'd be sitting on so many bozjan coins I can't do anything with so it's nice to have something to use them on and make a bitnof money.

I'm 99.9% sure this is a troll thread so I'll keep it semi-short.

- Only the hardcore reclear groups care about what Boz set you have. There are other groups that exist that take people who don't have it. Literally have friends who do it with a casual group and still get their clears.

-Being able to do savage does not equal the game being pay to win. As I said above, there are groups that exist that take people without it and you also don't need to do savage in general as it's not a requirement for main story content. True pay to win is items costing real cash that you physically need to progress further at all in a game. If any of you have played games like Guns of Glory, you'll know exactly what I mean. 14 gives you the opportunity to grind for pretty much everything (outside of certain mogstation cosmetics, which yes I am aware there are a couple item sets that give you an xp boost. However, the game gives you the opportunity to earn the Bozjan Earring through an achievement which gives you a pretty beneficial xp boost as well up to level 80 (which is ironically higher than the mogstation sets, I believe they cap at 30). So, I would also not consider them true p2w features either since an alternative is available to earn in game.

The true complaint, if any here, should be the length of the grind needed to achieve things. I'm all for grind pain but at the same time, I think we can all admit in some way that certain grinds in this game could be trimmed down (for example, Southern Front could be fixed up a little bit to have equal drop rates like Zadnor for relic items). But, I really don't agree with the p2w mindset here outside of people paying for runs (which I don't agree with and personally don't really take run buyers for any sort of reliable source of battle information xD).
