Tamer: Beastmaster <> Summoner (Both could technically use whips as weapons and focus on pet damage, having beastmaster more physical and summoner more magic related.).
Gladiator: Dark Knight <> Paladin (Could implement Greatswords into the GLA weaponry and cater to a more DPS version of GLA with using enfeebling as another DPS point.)
Musketeer: Gunslinger <> Gun Mage (Bard is already the Corsair of FFXIV, have Gunslinger able to use dual guns and have Gun Mage focus on elemental shots that could debuff enemies.)
"Insert Nifty Eastern Name Here": Samurai <> Ninja (Can have Samurai focus on tanking by using TP skills specifically that grant enmity, not base attacks themselves like Warrior. Can give Ninja two katanas like Edge from FFIV and have them more DPS focused.)
Not the best ideas, but I think these would be pretty cool.
I'd like to know when we will be getting a new 'battle' class.
I'm jonesing to level up another battle job, and i'd rather not play my mule for this.
