The horrible que time is a game stopper for many others.
If you have played first 3 seasons where ladder will show each player's match played and Win/Loss ratio you will not surprise to see players that climb there by corpse piling with a ratio of 20% winning rate.
Feast population size is too small so you need new measures to increase the base player population; otherwise, it is a dead end no matter what.
FF14 does not have a population size allowing rating matching and need a rating decay to flush people and keep them continue to play.
Again, I don't really give a damn about Feast, just express my view since I am seeing Feasters drinking poison to stop their thirst.

Rank decay is pointless with how it's setup now. Regardless of your current rank your highest is taken into account meaning even if there was decay people would just let it decay since your highest is the only thing that matters, beforehand around s4 when current rating was a thing it would make more sense but its always a suggestion that isn't thought out enough.
Players sit on rank because there's nothing else to grind for, you dont get collars for x wins in a season or special top 10 rewards outside of the extra collars, if u dont want the weapons then u simply wont care and afk at diamond or safe plat and thats the bigger issue here than decay which is a plaster to a gun wound... At the end of the day this at most will affect those who want rank 1 / top 10 and will not help new players or lower skilled players. -

Ranking decay will also mean you take away 'highest rating counts only' which lets people play without worrying atm. So what is more useful decay rating for everyone or let people play if they like it? Punishment or Incentive with no risk?
If they add more incentives to tier rewards aka bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond tiers - and not just top100, they will get players trying to achieve that tier with their sparse time. If they do it directly when they give out wolfcollars or with wolfcollar shop system, doesn't matter. The hellhound weapons are not good enough visually for the effort it takes, it's way faster and easier to just unsync an old raid or buy a crafted primal skin weapon that looks already superior. Put a cerberus mount in there for 15 collars and you get tons of new people going for wolfcollars only, for the next 3 seasons at least.
