Not that I want to disagree with any of your valid point cause you both have some,

But consdering the lvl of the OP, the main ressource I see that has been drastically nerfed is Embrace. It used to be 300 pot, now it's only 150. Physick + Fairy's Embrace used to almost match the old Cure II/Benefic II potency.
Lvl40 Scholar Kit has barely changed so I think it's more that OP need some advice such as using Whispering Dawn, using adloquium and succor and physick when shield are on.

I'm as sad as you for losing everything we had back then. I truly am. But let's not be blinded by our anger and sadness and spread misinformation about SCH healing at early lvls.
When you start as WHM and go to SCH 1-50, it's a natural feeling that you feel "weak" in comparison, and it has nothing to do with the "rework" (except Embrace being halfed). And even so, Adloquium shield is stronger, succor heal + sheild are stronger.
Besides, in single target, they "buffed" Bio II and Ruin to compensate for the loss of miasma and bio 1. But if the fresh new healer isn't dpsing and wouldn't have even back in 2.0/3.0, it doesn't change anything to her "problem".

It's important to remember you don't need everyone to be topped off.

The only HP that matters is the last one!

This is doubly important as a SCH because your fairy is basically a persistent Regen on the party, if you're constantly trying to keep everyone at 100% she isn't getting to do her job.

This is the myth i was referring to. Our raw healing was lower because we were meant to prevent or reduce a lot of the incoming damage. You don't need to heal damage that isn't taken. It had nothing to do with DPS, which was a carryover from SCH's roots as an Arcanist

I'm not always very good at explaining things, but the basic gist of my post was that WHM is about big burst heals. Scholar is about prevention. Especially in those early levels, hence my suggestion to use Adloq often.
Whispering Dawn is nice, certainly helpful but will often not be available. That's why i directed the OP towards making effective use of Adloq to allow the Fairy to act as regen with Embrace.

The OPs trouble with Scholar likely resides in the polar opposite nature of SCH healing compared to WHM. Once you get used to Scholar's Shield and prevention style, it's almost too powerful at low levels.
