Oooh, so sorry. Gotta have a start date of October 2013 to get all the cool things. Darn shame, too. I do enjoy my free gil button and executive bathroom perk is nice whenever they fly me to Square Enix HQ to lunch with Yoshi-P (not lately, sadly. Stupid virus).

Um, as others have said, that is not a crown beside their names; it is a sprouted flower which you can choose to have for coming back after at least two months gone. And yes, it gives you access to the novice network for 72 hours of game play time. As I have recently come back from a 2 month break, I know this.

And yes, if you choose NOT to say yes, you lose the option to do it. Believe me, having access to the novice network is actually kind of annoying and I think I am just going to leave it.

And yeah, as others have said, for the crown, one of each kind of fighting job to 80, 1000 instances, and 1500 comms.

There are a few icons which will indicate if the player is using a new character, just returned after not logging in for an extended period of time or classify themselves as Mentors.

If you want to become a mentor, you can find the updated requirements over at the " Mentor System Update"-page. Be kind to those you are grouped up with and you'll be able to become a mentor in no-time. Good luck! (^_^ )-b

If you want to get something special for the amount of time you've subscribed since 2.0, you can take a look at the "Veteran Rewards"-page to see what you are eligible for. You can pick up the rewards you are eligible for over at Jonathas in Old Gridania (X:10.6 Y:6.3).

I played in 2013 and came back late last year. The game is so different now that I'd be legitimately confused if they gave me mentorship while my head was still spinning from how changed everything became. At least level capping doesn't mean grinding fates 8 hours a day now :P

Oof, the entitlement is strong here.

Being a mentor has to be earned. It's not a 'veteran' thing because you've been playing for a while (or coming back after a long absence).

Ahhhh that limited time event! I recall it well. Sadly, that event reward wasn't available to players who started before October 2013... just those who started during October 2013. The rest of us got the bronze version; the gil button takes out money, and we get the SE janitor (who is a real nice person btw) and a bento box of half eaten sushi.

I started in 3.3 and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.
