Your providing a service, most players forget which npcs sell what while the marketboard is an extremely convenient centralized place to buy anything.

Nah. I do it from time to time too :-D
And sometimes marketboard is actually cheaper then buying from a vendor. Figures
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. If it makes you sleep better at night ripping people off enjoy yourself.
SE literally has coded a 'sale price' indication onto every item in the game that can be purchased from the vendor. It shows up every time you hover over an item at the marketboard. The only thing it doesn't do is tell you /where/, but if money was such a big concern to someone you would think they would actually check upon seeing the potentially massive difference. It's ten seconds to google, then maybe a minute tops to aetheryte hop to the desired location depending on potential travel time. If someone isn't willing to put that little effort into finding the best deal then I really don't think you can say anyone is being ripped off. At that point it's a choice.
A choice which I've definitely made myself when I'm feeling particularly lazy, mind. Sometimes people weigh the convenience of the marketboard versus the hassle of tracking an item from a vendor down, and find the former to be far easier to deal with.
unless you are putting them up using a bot, make gil however you want
This is kiddies play.
I remember selling glamour dispellers for 7k-11k each before glamour system update. :D
As mentioned it's a service. I buy from the MB all the time, even when I can see clearly on the item that it's available from a vendor cheaper. You can go digging through google, find the npc, teleport over to them, buy your one worthless item for 16 gil and go back then repeat for the next item, or buy it instantly for 1k which is absolute peanuts when you're sitting on hundreds of millions and zero use for it.
Low value items take up retainer space and I'm glad there are people selling them for when I want one, it makes my gaming more convenient. Keep up the good work.
No one is being ripped off. They're choosing to pay extra for the convenience of not having to find and travel to the vendor.
I paid 750 per Sheep Casing on the marketboard last week instead of traveling to Crystarium and back to buy them from the vendor at 493 each. Was I ripped off? Nope. It was my choice to pay more for the convenience. If they were being listed at 1500 gil each, then I probably would have gone to buy them myself.
Nah, this is something I've done in the past to fill MB slots when I didn't have time to make stuff, and it's also something I suggest to new players complaining that they're broke. The items typically won't sell if your markup is ridiculous, but if you keep the prices reasonable it's a win-win for you and the buyer.
