Started FFXIV, went into MSQ Roulette 30 seconds later the game crashed.
And again in the Preatorium after the second boss.
And again after beating the boss and starting a cutscene.
And again before engaging Ultima Weapon.
And again after defeating Ultima weapon, second form.

Could you change your settings in game so you don’t go afk? Maybe that’ll help? I’m on ps4 and I can change that in my settings to adjust the time before afk. I know it’s not the fix you want but maybe try?

The crashes were happening only after being afk. Now the crashed happen also while playing. So changing the afk setting won't help much while in game.

I’m sorry. :( Hopefully somebody on here has some good advice.

One thing I would check for; run a malware/UWP scan on your computer (MalwareBytes is a very good free program to do this with)
I have ran across this a few times on Windows computers I have worked on/fixed for friends.....
A trojan running in the background, that does CryptoCurrency Mining, of which is set to only start running if the computer has been idle for X-amount of time.
Once it begins running, it eat 100% of the system resources of both the CPU and GPU, of which can cause other things that happen to be running to lock up.
It is designed to stop running the second any user input is detected and return into a stealth mode, as in you walk away for some time, the trojan turns on, other programs lock up, bug-out, or crash, you walk back and the first thing you do it move the mouse to the error message, which causes the trojan to turn off.
It might be that you have one such trojan and it kicking on causes the game to crash.
Just a thought...

its not a trojan(highley doubt it) as almost 100 + people in tech support forum having same issue. it seems related to dx11 so swap to dx9 and you should be fine (when you start the launcher go into the setting and swap to dx9 ) game looks worse but it stop crashing

Thank you for the update Reih.
We apologize for the delay in our response. We'd recommend running the game in a simple environment to prevent anything interfering with the game. This will include closing any programs and removing any unnecessary devices (headphones, USB devices, etc.). If the previously stated troubleshooting has not resolved the issue, you may be experiencing a hardware-related issue. If this is the case, unfortunately, we would not be able to assist further.

I will try that, if this keeps happening guess, as a consequence, I have to stop playing FFXIV. It's the only application having trouble on my pc. Everything else runs as intended. Including the 41 other games installed in this game, including 14 Square Enix games, all work perfectly.

There's no support, there's no solution. Limit of support has been set. The only possible outcome is closing the thread.I work on the medical field where support limits are unacceptable or at least to a 95% manageable. Guess the standards for SE are set lower. Thank you, please close the thread.
