You're recommended to use the data centre geographically closest to where you play. That makes the JP data centres home to English-speaking players from Australia, New Zealand and a number of Asian countries.
I'm not here because it's superior or something. It's just where I was told to go.
And I am speaking from observation. People converge on the flag locations and fight over them. Matches are won and lost over who picks up the S-rank flag late in the game.
Maybe they aren't doing that over on whatever server the OP plays, because they're making it sound like they just get ignored and people need to be prompted to engage in that part of the game. Maybe it's the difference between how JP players behave (and thus what the devs would see players doing if they play the game themselves) versus how US players behave. Maybe if I went over to one of the other JP servers it would be different again.
So. I specify which DC I'm on and where it is, if that seems relevant to what I'm talking about - if it's about how players behave or interact with the game, because the population is clearly different, both in behaviour and sheer numbers, and things that people talk about as issues on the US forum don't seem to be issues here to the same degree. So I'm coming from a different perspective, and want to make that clear if it's relevant.
