Is there a hint of a future job according to this character (spoilers)?

I think we've only have had 4 examples so far of jobs being hinted at ingame before announcement(besides The Rising events).

Ninja: Yugiri shows up and fights in a cutscene before the Leviathan trial.
Red Mage: Alisaie during the WoD fight in HW.
Samurai: Gosetsu during the Omega activation solo-instance at the end of HW(Can't remember if samurai was actually announced before or after this).
Blue Mage: Translators said "Prelude in Violet" title was a hint for it.

Normally, I'd say that Geomancer is lorewise, just AST.

But given that they had no qualms with completely destroying all the lore from the AST quests about the significance of the constellations with the new card system, I suppose them retconning the rest of AST's job quests to fit in Geomancer wouldn't be such a surprise at this point.

Especially since they've also got rid of the last of Conjurer in WHM, so Earth/Wind spells are no longer being used by any jobs (Aside from Verstone/Veraero on RDM)

Given that Gaia was made by the guest designer, rather than SE themselves, it's unlikely that she's a precursor to any new jobs. As the guest designer wouldn't know anything about that.

Also, as far as what she is, she's the Oracle of Darkness. Which isn't really something we can obtain a job in any more than we can get an "Oracle of Light" job where we can be useless like Minfilia/Ryne.

For something to be hinting at a job, you'd want to be looking at the MSQ as that was designed by SE and so could incorporate hints to future content plans.

Personally, I was curious about the whole thing in Amaurot about creation magicks and if that was going to become something we could wield (Though, I guess it sort of represents BLU given that they create physical objects out of aether based on designs used by monsters) - Even with the comments about our ability to utilize it being non-existent (However, this was back before our soul merged with Ardbert's)

In E8 she seems to be using a time based spell. Just saying. Time mage could be a posibility as well.

This is exactly what happened. Tetsuya Nomura was asked to design Gaia and he wasn't aware that no classes use a hammer in combat. When Yoshida saw the art he was like "oh no one uses this weapon, but we can make it work."

I don't think she is a hint of a new class. She could definitely be made into one, but I think it's also just as likely that Gaia will have a unique combat style due to her very unique abilities as an Oracle.

I would love to see a class that uses giant hammers. Looks awesome.

I don't think they'll make a class that uses hammers. Reason being, they've already given Warrior a hammer weapon and I think it'd be odd if they then went and made a hammer class.

I don't see how WAR having 1 hammer weapon means that jobs we can never have a job that uses hammers as a main weapon. Before NINs was released, PLD used daggers. By that logic, NIN should never use daggers because some PLD weapons were daggers. Then there's also all the different types of sword-based jobs we have in game, but I guess those are fine because they're different types of swords? I don't see why there can't be different types of Hammers.

Anyways, back on topic. I don't think Gaia is hinting at any future jobs, especially this early in the the expansion's patch cycle.

Gaia is a Nomura character right?

Everything she has is purely and aesthetic choice.

DRK has a katana

NPC's aren't limited in weapon choices to job types.

There's an NPC in the MCH questline that uses a 1 handed axe paired with their gun.

The leader NPC in Limsa with the name I can't spell uses 2 guns.

Rauhban used 2 1 handed swords until things happened causing him to have less than 2 hands.

There might be more but these 3 came to mind immediately.
