This Little Ladies Day felt off to me. I feel it needs a new perspective.

They appear if you do repeatable quest and select the appropriate option

The songbirds were in the mini quest and they weren't in it at the start. Not the one that worked like a server race to get the doll display filled up as that one was either the first one or the second one.

Note that there are 4 other girls in the ward, who recieved "Nothing" as they weren't in the cutscene when they were handed out (Only the 2 girls the event was focused around and the Miqo'te girl were. Also, only Momoro and Lorie are wearing the flowers afterwards)

It's possible, if not highly probable, that the other children also recieved gifts even though they weren't in the cutscene.

To say nothing about the fact that with the decorations, comes also the food, which looks like a sweet treat that I'm sure all the kids enjoyed.

However, the event was focused upon the particular pair of girls, so it's natural that they would have taken the spotlight during the cutscene (With the Miqo girl being there... Because she's super adorable?)

To say nothing about how Damielliot received a gift for his efforts as a senechal (Luckily, he only had vision problems with his left eye, or receiving a monocle to replace his glasses would have been a terrible decision), or how Momoro was acting as a senechal for her friend Lorie.

I mean, if there's anything to get upset about, the Miqo'te "Hardworking Healer" didn't get anything, nor was there any implication that she did. But to do so would mean missing the point that the focus was almost entirely on Momoro and Lorie.

That stood out to me as well! I suppose it's a Japanese holiday, though, so cultural differences and what-not.

But there is also this to consider as well!

It's my least favourite seasonal event overall. It wouldn't bother me so much if there happened to be an equivalent seasonal event geared more towards male characters to balance it out. It's a little baffling that there isn't one given that the number of people playing male characters isn't exactly small to begin with.

It's one of the few things I miss about WoW, I suppose. The seasonal events there didn't priortise one gender over the other. Granted, unlike in FFXIV the stories surrounding them didn't really change but even FFXIV is becoming stale on that front in regards to these events as they often end up revolving around similar plot beats.

Yeah it's a part of golden week if I recall. I can semi guess why it was changed, but it feels off having a female centric holiday and no longer having a male centric one. Like if we had Fathers Day and no Mothers Day. I get it's a different culture, it just feels off. I guess as someone who grew up in a very female-centric environment, and was made to feel "ashamed" for being male, it just hit a bad nostalgia factor for me.

This was my first Little Ladies' Day, so I didn't really know what to expect going into it. It was cute, but it did feel a bit odd that the male children didn't get anything - though the spirit of the event seemed to suggest that if one had wanted some cherry blossoms, he'd have gotten some.

The weirdest part, for me, was the lalafell child looking like an adult... eek.

There isn't a male specific version of the event because Japan doesn't have a male specific version of the holiday (anymore).

The WoL must be one heck of a sweet-talker to convince a Namazu and a dragon to come all the way over to Ul'dah just to entertain some kids.

For that matter, I do enjoy getting to see familiar faces from our past endeavors continue to show up in the seasonal events.
