I didn't choose them because of the run.. but it does look adorable when I see them run past me. It'll drive me insane if I picked one though. Then again I'm an Au ra and mine run is super stiff like there's a pipe in my ass. So what do I know.

Please dev change the running combat animation of SCH and SMN for women.
OP is hardly the only person who dislikes the midlander running animation.
That said, I don't think removing is the way to go. Simply having the option to swap to a non-princess walking animation would be better.
Those are a more muscled up version, which doesn't appeal to as many people as midlanders do.
Oh don't even think about touching my dainty princess run!
Can't keep sprint up full time, so as tank in heavy armor you've gotta love it.
As healer, I can't keep up period and love being all "doot dee dooo" while everyone leaves me in the dust ;p
Dodging the bad during Slice is Right is way too adorable. Just need a emote where we stick our tongues out in a 'nah naahhh' fashion :p
This animation has pretty much become the signature of the Midlander female.
Can someone tell me why the FFXIV community hates on girl midlanders so much? I think they are a very feminine and cute race...I genuinely don’t get the hate for them, it’s not like anyone is forcing you to play as one
yes changed the one of the most detailed walk animations lol
if anything , i'd prefer a new walk animation for elezen , both genders
maybe improve some of the body parts too
I love Hyurs but midlander is too plain with her poses and flat figure and yeah, I wouldn't mind if I could choose a different run. I like highlanders too with their playful use of emotes (4th voice, best voice ingame) but they are too buff for me, we need a mix!
I wish they would add new runs ones to everyone and we could choose which to use.
I wasn't a fan of the midlander run back when I played one, I sort of got around it by just running everywhere with my weapon unsheathed.
Obviously as a workaround it works a lot better for some jobs than others. PLD was fine, SMN still looked a bit silly.
