They can still be kinda bad.

I always write that sort of thing off as a side effect of battle. You don't get two Bat Wings from every bat because some get broken during the fight. You don't get a skin from every goat because some are destroyed beyond use, etc.

I tested this theory once by killing them without a weapon. Didn't help:)
