"Show your lewd miqo'te" was taken down relatively quickly within a few hours and on a weekend I think

It's basically just TitanMen/BroFists necroing these threads. I suggest reporting them every time they do it until SE decides they need a forum vacation.

I don't understand why forums just don't just auto-close dead threads after a certain point to keep them from being necroed, but I digress.

But yes, it's going to take a concerted effort to get those two characters a much deserved vacation.

I have starting reporting this too because it definitely counts as spamming and it's very annoying. I hope SE pays attention

If an issue was brought up 5+ years ago, and someone decided to contribute, this would mean there is still merit to adding points of talk to the discussion at hand.

While the original topic creator may not be around to see your posts, someone might.

Like I can't tell you how often I'm doing my best google-fu on some obscure tech issue, to find a lone post on a small message board that had the same problem. With the only reply is just "Ah I figured it out thanks" and it's old and closed and I have no way to bring it up again asking him to actually post the dang procedure lol.
I could create a new topic on it but why not use the one that already exists? The guy that have made it might get an alert or something. It's my best lead and it's locked, it's a bit frustrating lol.

This is even worse. What's the point? There's no limitations on how old something can be before replies aren't allowed.

Yes people do get banned and some permanently generally because someone reported them to moderation. I don't think there is active moderation per se but more of a reaction to reports made here to them. 100+ complaints directed at the offending party will get a response and will get the account a permanent ban in my opinion.

I agree with the cat with the cool shades. I'm not going to report someone over a necro'd thread.
