Back in the days when Northern Thanalan FATE pts were still a thing, I formed a party with my bf and a couple of FC friends as well, and I kept hitting a macro on my hotbar that I had created specifically to recite vows for my Ceremony of Eternal Bonding in /shout (I was trying to use Shield Lob to pull mobs but kept hitting the shout macro instead because the wrong hotbar was visible).
Cue me shouting out automatically to the entire zone slushy doggerel about how much I loved my bf, not once, but twice. Someone ended up shouting back "SHUT UP" (which I do not blame them at all), only to surprisingly have someone shout back to them that they should be the one to shut up as they "thought it was sweet". This is Balmung though so I guess that thing is kind of expected.
But I was still mortified beyond words though and ended up quickly teleporting out of there and didn't show my face in Northern Thanalan for weeks after that (I'd only kept the macro on my hotbar out of sentimental reasons, I'm weird like that). Needless to say, that macro no longer exists as I didn't want to repeat that performance. ;)

I remember starting as a marauder back in 2.0 beta and not knowing what a tank was up until like... Halatali. This was my first MMO and I was not familiar with the lingo. I guess problems with aggro management or keeping mobs on me hadn't been an issue cause I spammed Overpower quite a bit during those pulls (single and multi, I admit).
That was back in the phase of beta when Duty Finder had yet to be added and people had to essentially hang out by the dungeon entrance and shout for party members. The way I found out about tanks was in one such instance when we were waiting for a light party to form. One of the DPS made an off-hand comment about another tank he or she had ran with some time ago. It was something along the lines of "Had a tank who didn't want to tank." at which point I asked what a tank was. Got a weird look, of course... lol.
That's about it. I don't think I've ever been badly embarrassed in this game... yet. lol

I'd been farming Leviathan EX uncapped with a few friends for our ponies, when I dc'd and completely forgot to recheck the "undersized party" option when I got back. There were five of us so it popped immediately without drawing attention to my mistake and there we were, completely unprepared.
I felt bad, both for wasting the time of three strangers and causing some sudden dismay to my original group. I had a couple members who didn't join pugs ever, it just wasn't how they wanted to experience the game, and I never would have intentionally forced one on them.

on an alt and my opener to bismark was to superbolide as a fat finger, get confused by what i just did, and auto-walk off the map

Telling ppl to roll at the end of Eden Sepulture because they were holding the group, only to be told I hadn't rolled either.
To be fair, I only had missed rolling on 1 item, a head piece, by sheer accidental oversight, which happened to be the one item they were after and holding the rest ransom. So once I rolled on that, it dropped (they didn't get it thankfully) and left allowing the other 7 items to drop.
Still was one of those dancing off stage when caught lip-syncing moment tho lol

Leviathan (Eden) knocks down the center of the platform, does his diagonal attack where there's no choice but to move away.......
Then I decide to rush back with Gyoten.... well.... that aimed me straight at the nonexisting center of the platform yay yay!

Don't have one. I have no shame. Literally.
I mean, I've fallen asleep while healing before, and wiped the party, but I wasn't embarrassed.

There was one time I immediately fell off the platform during Bismarck normal as a WHM, causing the group to be down one healer the entire fight cause you can’t be raised if you fall in that fight, now that made me all embarrassed and feeling like crap but it doesn’t compare to the worst blunder I’ve ever had in any multiplayer game and not just FF14.
During the Engels fight in the Copied Factory, I got there first out of the whole alliance, so I put down the markers as to where each tank goes, A to the west, B to the south, and C to the east. Well it turns out B goes to the north instead, as that’s where the mob spawns, as the party B tank, I thought to just to go the north, but one of the other tanks grabbed enmity out of confusion and I wasn’t able to get enmity back as I was dead, this all eventually resulted in the entire alliance wiping due to the tanks dying and then everyone else getting mauled by the machines and then the laser.
Summarized, I killed a entire alliance single handily with bad marker placement.
Funny thing was I I didn’t get blamed, other dudes where complaining how the other dude grabbed a extra mob, even got a few comms at the end. Feel less embarrassed and more terrible about it.

I'm prone to getting incredibly exhausted at random times, medical issues and all that.
Had a day where I just couldn't even move my body other than my arms, so I had the bright idea to level my healer a bit, queue'd in for Qitana Ravel, went fine until the boss.
I fell asleep at the last set of mobs before the boss, I was asleep for 15 minutes, until I woke up.
How I woke up? Cause in my head I was like "Why do I hear boss music?"
My team was patiently waiting at the boss while I was dozed off, they had a laugh the entire time after I explained.

Posted it in the DF thread already but I slapped someone I was trying to clap to for doing a good job tanking. Then I tried to quickly correct myself and say "I meant to clap instead", but said "i meant slap", then swearing and trying to fix it again before they left by miss spelling clap as cloap, and they left before that even got out. I just took a break from party content after that for the rest of the day. Just awful, awful.
Luckily my FC cheered me up and thought it was hilarious, but I hope the person I slapped got my message that I didn't mean it (I PM'd them right after but they never responded, so I'm unsure if they saw it).
