To insert a pic on a thread, you need to have the pic posted elsewhere, (lodestone, maybe discord) than copy and paste the link in a reply to the main thread, right?

Yes, the image needs to be published on the internet somewhere. Discord should work since you can click on the image to get the URL, and post it here between two IMG tags.
