You're entire post seems to ignore the fact that colorism is very much a problem in eastern cultures. From skin lighting products to white washing darker skins asian and those of mixed races in media.

Lmao, no I said a western definition of colorism doesn't work very well on an eastern culture and forcing it is arrogant. The desire for lighter skin has existed in Asia for centuries. It hardly has anything to do with the same racial stigma, key words same here bc they ultimately have a different history and culture, as western countries. I never brought up racism, pal, you are. I am merely saying you're taking western social constructs and applying them to Japanese culture. The fact you wanna bring up racism is a clear defining factor that you don't know why Asians have tried to lighten their skin for centuries.
I was a little disappointed they did it. The darker skin tone with the pure white clothing was what really made the 2P palette pop and stand out from the original.
Ah well. Asian standards of beauty and all that, whatever.
Umm... did any of you actually watch the cutcenes? 2P totally look like she has tanned skin compared to 2B. That picture in the third post is just really washed out. You can tell they over-exposed that image compared to the in-game footage of her.
I don't know exactly what shade I would call the color of 2P's skin here, but it certainly isn't the lily white it is in NieR: Automana, or the lily white 9S has for that matter...

2P skin is actually tanned in the game but the picture on the website uses the default skin she has as 2B.
Probably just a character model error when they took the picture.

While she's still pretty light-skinned, 2P's previous depictions definitely had a browner tone than her in-game model.
A lot of what will be said in this thread has already been said here.

If I can offer a somewhat neutral statement to this conversation, 9s' ingame model's skin tone is listed as 1,1 (so the lightest skin tone that exists), whereas 2P's is 17,4 (which is definitely at least tanned). Depending on lighting and weather conditions, skin tones in FF14 can vary wildly in appearance.
It's surprising that the ingame model seems to differ quite a bit from the promo site though, makes me wonder which model came first.
