As for Shantotto, no. She was a "beach"

if anyone should be in this game from Xi it should be either Maat, or Lilinette (awww yeah hawtness).

Star Sibyl > Shanttoto

I would rather have her. and come on Gridania/Windurst are like the same. Trees everywhere, difficult to navigate, we could definetely re-use Star Sibyl somewhere in the storyline.

One of my favorite characters in FFXI was Lion. Even though her time was short, she made a big impact in the game where she was top 5 most famous characters at one point.

I think characters like these deserve a little more time to shine than those who have shined for a while and really weren't anything but a "personality attraction". Let's face it, if Shant didn't have that laugh she would of been just a regular TaruTaru like the rest of them. Lion in the other hand, why I think she was such a strong impact was because she was one of us.

No other character in FFXI can compare with the greatness.

Definately Shantotto. It's one thing with people saying "No, Prishe! No, Nashmeira! Lion! Lilisette!" but Shantotto was the only FFXI NPC that got off Vana'diel (and associated places. Sky, Sea etc.) and just... disappeared. It's feasible for Shantotto to make it here. It's not feasible for any others to manage it.

(...Interestingly, has anyone else noticed the server block on taking the names from existing FF characters? Domina Shantotto can't be claimed on any server, much like other characters from other games. I know the dev team take new shots / test with characters named after others, but... hrm.)

Im not quite sure, but in the first BLM Quests (minor spoilers ahead), isnt there a mysterious object called "Shatotto"? (just without the letter "n")
