Can SE please remove Repose!

What a mess this thread is. Try telling us Repose is useless again when you're duo on floor 179 and just hit a lure.

Your sole reason for not wanting it in the game is you have not pushed yourself enough to find a reason to have it. That doesn't make it objectively useless. You are not the end all be all authority of what skills are useful. Take it off your bars if you don't use it, but crying for it to be removed entirely because it's not relevant to you and the content you like to do is incredibly, incredibly self-centered.

I also find it quite ironic that you chastise others for not knowing what their skills do in the same breath as you demand one of your own skills be removed because you don't know why it's good.

I'm very take it or leave it with repose, and most role skills besides Swift and lucid, tbh. I found it funny that the one singular role quest required it (and I actually encountered a glitch in that quest too), and then after that quest immediately took it off my hotbar. If they removed repose and have me something better in exchange for it, something that I would constantly use and wouldn't only be for niche content, sure, why not, but I see no reason they couldn't just add another role action instead of removing it. Or they could remove, don't really care either way.

Repose is generally a useless skill. Its one that falls under the same characteristics as shadowbinds pacifies heavies and blinds. All of which have vanished because they fell under the category of incredibly niche...

Repose and sleep are really exactly the same. Incredibly niche skills that are useless in 99% of content and this not even worth putting on a hot bar.

Same is true for stuns and silences. When you do a piece of content and someone says you can stun that by the way everyone just looks because none has it set to the hot bars. Such a niche thing just waste of a slot...

Youd think though that with all the homogenization they've done where practically every dps and tank has access to stuns and silences they might actually utilise them a bit more in encounter design but noooooooope......

Maybe you and everyone you run with treats these utilities as a "waste of a slot," but that doesn't mean they are, and the fact that it's being pointed out that you can stun or silence these things proves it. Someone noticed it didn't happen, because it had an impact.

You'd think though that with all the whining players are doing about homogenization that players would look for ways to use their toolkits to maximum effect, but nooooooooope......

SE, please do not remove sleeps, stuns, or silences just because of the masses who can't figure out why their buttons are good.

Eh. Stuns and silences have uses, and I find tanks have little trouble using them when necessary. To me, sleep is such a worthless status ailment because it can't be used most of the time. It has a couple of very niche uses in content very rarely done, and outside of those very specific situations, it will never be used. I'm not for or against it's removal, but to compare it to stun/silence, which even have uses in Savage content right now,doesn't seem accurate.

Regardless, it's a perfect example: just because a player doesn't think a thing is useful doesn't mean that thing is useless.

Repose is not useless simply because you don't do the content in which it's useful.

What? he did not say anything about removing stuns and silences those two abilites are needed, read his last sentence. You would think people would use them more to keep unnessacery damage slipping through when things get hairy.

Also, i like how you say i don't know how to use Repose, i stun and interrupt everything as a Tank, Heal, and DPS that can be stun and interrupt, but c'mon Repose is so niche it hurts. SE could a least make it more viable, in content most people spend time in, dungeons because I know people are not clearing high floors in Deep Dungeon like that. I was wrong to say remove this NICHE spell Repose and replace it with Cleric Stance, maybe they could meet us half way and return all ROLE ACTIONS, give back each healers unique abilities to refresh MP and remove status affects, and let us choose 5 role actions.

No, I understood that. I mean, I'm not saying I agree that SCH/AST damage needs to be brought up to WHM-level, but I get that that's what you're trying to do.

I'm just saying, I'd rather they didn't do it by giving everyone cleric stance, because I think both versions of it encourage a WHM-type playstyle, and I'd prefer not to homogenize things further.

True, but on how things are going, SE seems to love taking away things and making Roles act similar to each other. Hopefully they dont take away more from jobs and place it as a Role in 6.0

No but Yoshis reason for getting rid of so many skills was because they're so niche and hardly used. He didn't want jobs having skills that were so situational...

And I think repose is most definitely one of those skills that is niche and incredibly situational.
