I repeat again, I don't give a shit about the bufos that FC's have, they have had time, more than enough, to acquire the house.
And if you do not suggest a solution to impose restrictions on purchases of FC houses, do not bother to post (you keep showing me that you waste your time on things you have no idea).
PD: it would be a shame for the management of SE to open the private house on 5.1

Jowy, you really expect private housing 5.1? I think that doesn't makes any sense, think on that. Now FC are buying houses, and I don't care if it's for resselling or for they own, my point here is. Why they have all the right of having the best plots of the server? WHY? Is that a right wich cames with a FC? Because I'm paying the same (at month) as a guy wich a FC house. Why he can has the best plot? And I must be seeing how plots dissapear in my face and I can't do ANYTHING, I'LL REPEAT ANYTHING. There's just 1 possible solution, buying it to a a resseler for 100 million gil? Does it really makes sense? NO. The point is they don't have the right to do this, at least in my opinion there just be a period of 1 week AT LEAST, BUT NO MORE for the chance of a FC to buy a house.

Next question is *why* do you *need* a house.
And if it's so bloody important to your needs and have to have it right this minute go make a mini FC, buy it and treat it like your house...

...you gotta love the people complaining about housing in this game... posts like these really make me wonder if instances housing would be accepted after all if we're going from "I cant get a house at all, because there are non on my server" to "I cant get excatly the spot I want because FCs have priority!"

Here are a few points to think about in regards to why FCs have priority:
1) Housing was originally meant for FCs
2) An FC-house - in theory - benefits many people, a personal one doesnt
3) Certain FC-functions are locked behind owning a house

Let's see Vidu... It's true what you say, but this gives WEEKS OF PRIORITY? THIS REALLY MAKES ANY SENSE? They've had months to earn the money, so they don't have the RIGHT to give them now weeks and weeks to buy a house, 1 week ok, but more? wich is the point dude? there's no point on that. And if you think it has, you are wrong, why? For what i've said, THEY'VE HAD MONTHS TO EARN THAT MONEY.

Shadow - The earliest would of course be at 5.1, which is (I think) in a couple of weeks. I personally think FC housing could have been made available sooner with personal housing following about 2 weeks later but I assume the rollout of the expansion was more of a priority.

I see no issue in FC housing being made available before personal housing, again for the reason that it is more accessible to more players this way. Yes it hurts the individuals who had the desire to own a specific plot, but it was public knowledge that FC housing would come first.

Oh dear lord it's the same topic we've had 10+ pages on the German Forums already.

Short version: FCs had priorities of buying houses over private last time as well, so you should've expected the same for the new servers, no surprise.

FCs need houses for some activities. Private as well for gardening, yes, but FCs benefit a little more. But not all plots will be gone via FCs, so they get to buy first, in most cases there still were enough plots for private after.

In theory.

In actual practice, people have already created shell FCs to buy desirable plots. (Goodbye,all the Shiro 30/60s :D)

Since you only need 4 characters in an FC to purchase a plot,all of which can be your alts.

After purchasing the house, 3 of the remaining characters can go on to buy a house with a 4th and so on and so forth. A single service account can end up owning 8 FC houses per server.

Locking FC content like airships/submarines/workshop behind FC housing was a significant lack of foresight on SE's part, since these generate millions of gil a week when everything is ranked up and running at full steam.

Don't even need FC members for FC crafting. They can be from different servers/trial account characters etc.

The distribution of the benefits of such FC content, comes down to hoping you have good FC leaders/officers for normal FC members.

So I don't buy the argument that FCs should have priority over individuals when often only the FC leader and their inner circle benefit.

Granted,sometimes only the FC leader and a few people are doing all the work.

Even if people don't create shell FCs to flip the houses later on, just the fact that FC houses are significant gil generating assets makes them more valuable than a personal plot.

SE should make gardening available through apartments.

Content like the airships/submarines,workshop should be made available for individual players through the main cities. A few people should not be allowed to monopolize such assets.

Could there be ways it could be changed. Yeah people have suggested fc only wards before but square likes there little plots. Private owners also have access to apartments to make use of.

Actually, when housing was released it was supposed to be FC-only. At that time prices compared to the economy were so high that it was very unlikely that one person alone could afford more than a small house, even after weeks of just crafting. Over time inflation set in, more people earned the required money, prices of the houses went down because no one bought them and the first shell FC started to appear.

Personal housing became available about half a year after FC-only housing. Until then many wards had a lot of empty plots - mainly the mansions because no one had the money for those and the small ones because everyone felt they were better off saving a couple million more to get at least a medium house (at that time, small houses didnt had the cellar, it was just the one room, making them only slightly bigger than apartments).

Until seeing this thread I kept my fingers crossed for them to improve the size of apartments and provide people with better instances housing that way, so that everyone would be happy. Looking at this thread though I'm not sure that would work... apparently some people feel that a certain plot (Shirogane 30/60 probably?) is their birthright and that it should be presented to them personally by Yoshi-P with an apology that it took him to long to make sure they finally get what they deserve for paying 13€ a month - which clearly isnt just access to the game as described in the ToS we signed but also the housing plot of your choice and an UWU-clear that you dont have to train for...
